UPDATE! - I had written earlier suggesting that this armrest was a little too short. After spending the day in my car and with this firmly planted with just 2 small patches of velcro - I now see that I was wrong. The back 'hump' is located perfectly for the boney part of one's elbow and the very minor 'hump' serves to provide added support and being memory foam, quickly settles in to provide what I found to be a VERY COMFORTABLE armrest! I am updating my original review and taking my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Someone mentioned that it slid around a lot and in fact it does, but nothing that 2 1" square pieces of velcro didn't solve. The foam is indeed of the memory variety and the vinyl has the look and feel of leather. The little pockets are handy and for +/- $20 I have no complaints just 2 recommendations; Make it in 2 lengths: We are not all created equal-length and make the straps at least a little adjustable. I got lucky and the length worked for my car but may not fit or be long enough for all. I also wish and was hoping that the straps were beige like I seemed to remember seeing in one of the pictures. ... show more

    • A solution for the height issue

At first I tried this cushion as recommended in the listing pictures but it did not work. I experienced the same issue another seller had concerning the height of the cushion. When I put arm on it felt uncomfortable. My arm was too high in relation to my body. In order to solve the problem I turned it the other way around using the low part to the front where I rest my arm. I had to readjust the height of my seat in order to find a sweet spot. Now when I place my arm it feels great and comfortable. In addition the cushion looks much better with the high hump facing to the back of the car instead of the other way. The cushion is very soft and gentle to the arm and elbow. Now that I found a solution I can tell it works great. ... show more

01/02/2020: My commute recently went up from driving only 10 minutes to driving about 1 hour 30 minutes (one-way). I was looking for something to encourage better posture, make the trip more comfortable, and ultimately not make my car look tacky. I believe this armrest (with the side storage pouches) fit my Honda Civic very well and met all of my expectations! For the price, I think it is reasonable and while I do not expect it to hold up in quality forever, I would not mind re-ordering it once it starts wearing out. The 3 pouches located on the front of it can hold my iPhone 11 Pro Max and wallet! This little item has now enabled me to have less back pain from leaning over trying to find the armrest in my 2019 Nissan Rogue. It was just too low. Now it comes up right where it should be and makes for a comfortable ride. Easy to install. I do recommend getting some velcro for the bottom of it to help it stay in place if you have kids or other adults sharing the armrest. Just keeps it in place better. I am 5'6" tall and driving a 2020 Ford Explorer. When I adjust the seat to the correct position for me to drive, I found that the center console armrest was much too low for me to be comfortable. Due to the rise in height my shoulder would slump down in order to reach the armrest. This was just about perfect for me. I also like the way that it is shaped as it fits my arm in a neutral position. The pouch used to place a phone in does not interfere with anything and is great for holding a phone. The elastic straps are adjustable and make a snug fit that does not interfere with the use of the console cover that it is attached to. Got this for the center console of a Subaru 1999 Legacy. The consle sits too far back for this to be truly effective. The attached elastic straps are worthless. The included Velcro sticky-mount pieces are the heavy duty stuff. Seems to be holding fairly well thus far, but it's just barely starting to get warm. We'll see how it hold up on 100 degree days. I ended mounting in way forward (so it looks like it's always sliding off). Tried the reverse mount as some others had suggested, but it didn't feel right. Interferes with the handbrake usage, but not too bad. The pockets are a gimmick - no real benefit there. Otherwise, not a bad product. First off, I'm not sure why there are reviews saying the straps aren't adjustable because they are. A little small for my 2012 300 srt8 but still work fine. Very comfortable now so, I will edit my rating in a few months if the padding wears out fast. Pouches are a little small. However, it is nice to be able to put my money clip in one. As a professional driver, I found that I was placing my elbow and leaning on the center console alot - enough to where I noticed I was starting to wear out the polymer/leather. This cushions prevents me from damaging the actual console and is super comfortable. Nice added height to rest my arm and elbows can sink right in. Good leather material.
