We purchased this as a replacement to a more costly Crate and Barrel marble butter-bell, which always left our butter with a weird smell and horrible taste! I was a bit reluctant to purchase, because I really liked the look of the C&B butter-bell that we had, but grew tired of tossing out butter after about a week. I like that i can use it flipped either way. It gets hot in my place in the summer, so having it work like a cup when it gets soft keeps me from being too messy. It’s a super smooth material. I dont really know how to put it into words, like it feels “brittle” like a crispiness to it, but not fragile. Love that it’s a green product and it’s plenty large!
