I just got these shoes in today and tried them on! They are so comfortable and exactly what I was hoping for. The inside is very padded and soft. Though I have not worn them around long, I can tell I am going to like them. If I could give any advice though I would suggest sizing up. I normally wear a size 9W/9.5 in women’s shoes. Shoes were kinda weird feeling. The heels are raised and brought forward a-bit that takes getting used to. I have a knee problem and I must admit the shoes have helped. In my opinion these sneakers have been one of the best investments I've made for my feet. I'm in my mid-60's, overweight (working on it), with diabetes. I had started feeling temporary pain in the Achilles tendon of my left foot. The discomfort would occur after being stationary but would quickly go away when I walked for several minutes. I saw an ad for Gravity Defyer sneakers. Advertised as being a walking sneaker with orthopedic corrective inserts sneaker I made the purchase. I had been invited to go to Disney World with family, had been advised that the walking might be brutal for me, and I wanted to have another set of sneakers I could use. Walking in them for the first time was unique. The sole felt stiff, but this quickly faded. In early August we were in Disney World for a week. Not one drop of rain. Temperatures were in the high-90's/low 100's. The "real feel" was between 117 - 124 degrees. I registered between 23k to 25k steps, over twice my usual daily step count. While they were right about the walking, they didn't mention the discomfort of standing in long lines in that heat. I was pleasantly surprised that I had no complaints about my feet or legs. I wore the Gravity Defyers every single day. The heat from the pavement was intense and the common joke was that the soles of our sneakers were melting. People with gel inserts claimed to feel their feet sliding around in their sneakers. As for me, the soles of my sneakers were solid. I enjoyed walking in these sneakers. Even standing in slow moving lines was not an issue for me. I read in the reviews that the sizing was small compared to other shoes. I found this to be true. I normally take a 12 - 12.5-inch size. I ordered a 13-inch size and it fit like a glove. If I re-order these sneakers, I'd be tempted to go with a 13-wide if I was to wear heavy socks in cold weather. The sneakers look far better than the pictures displayed on Amazon. I purchased the grey color because all the really cool colors were no longer available - which I took as an indication of the sneaker's popularity. It turns out the grey color is a pretty sharp looking sneaker. I am thrilled with these sneakers. I would definitely purchase them again and I have recommended them to my friends. I purchased these shoes to wear on vacation. I usually wear a size nine shoe, but I followed the sizing guidelines provided by Amazon as my "suggested" size. I usually wear a size 9 but followed the suggestion by Amazon and ordered a size 8.5. I then wore them a couple of times to break them in before departing on vacation. I took only these shoes and a pair of "flip-flops." Once I arrived on vacation in Puerto Rico, I found these shoes much too small for any extended wearing. They hurt my feet and made my day fairly miserable. I replaced them with a cheap ($29.99) pair of pull-on loafers I purchased at Wal-Mart and got through my vacation with my new, cheap, shoes. I feel I was misled by Amazon's suggestion and am sorry I did not order my normal shoe size. I wore the Gravity Deyer G-defy enough that they are not suitable for return, but I suggest throwing them in the garbage before I went on vacation would have been the best course of action for me. ... show more

Very comfortable shoes when on your feet all day. Although buy a half size bigger than you normally wear. I've worn men size 8 for 30 years and my toes touch the end of these shoes so by the end of the day my toes are sore.

I liked the fact that they stay tied with a single knot. My old shoes had slick laces and had to be double knotted. The size was my usual 9 wide so sizing was spot on for me.
