This remote was a little pricey so I had gotten a cheaper version; rated to 15 meters waterproof and it died after one day that it went an inch or two into the water a few times. I used this remote for a 10-day ocean kayaking trip and did not even have to charge it again. I was wearing my camera on a head strap, and it's really nice that the remote can turn the camera back on when it goes to sleep so you don't have to let it keep running or reaching up on top of your head to fiddle with it. The remote paired easily and makes it so nice to commence video or take a photo. That way one doesn’t move the camera by pushing the shutter button on the camera itself. I could be several feet away from the camera and had full control over the basics. Really cool. Downside from what I think I read is that in order for the remote to work you must disengage the app from your phone…..well, if that is true that is just dumb. I did turn off my app because I wanted to be sure the remote worked but I have not gone back to see if both can live in harmony. ... show more

One disappointment was I set controller up at home and when I went to use it at the lake it was not connected. I was getting ready to fish a tournament and boom the remote would not connect. I did not have the time to reset it up.
