Before these, I was using shower curtain hooks. I've used several different brands but they all seem to catch on my towels and tear them up a little bit. In fact the last hooks I owned kept falling off the curtain rod on top of catching and tearing up my towel, which is pretty irritating when you're in a rush in the morning. My husband wanted matte black as all the other fixtures are matte black. These were supper easy to put on the rod. It was a little tricky putting on both sides since the shower curtain was up but it is doeable. I used these for months now.     • So close, but still not quite "it"

I got these hooks to replace aging ones I had which had started to accumulate rust, and which were also a pain to change out my liner on because of being closed loop hooks, and which didn't even stay closed most of the time either. I was so hopeful, and these come so close... Are they totally rust resistant? So far as I can tell, yes. Do they glide easily with the rollers on top? Also yes. Does one shower curtain or liner ring end up falling off one of the hooks almost every single time I open and close my curtains? Sadly also yes. While it may be nice they are providing these as a bargain-quality item, trying to provide the best of both worlds, they seem to fall short more so in the quality department... The dual hooks that go off to each side only curl up by about 1 inch, so any rings on those hooks are on there like "just enough" to not fall off on their own, most of the time, but the process of moving the curtains will inevitably warp their position and often it's by enough for them to just slide off the hooks. I would have much rather if the side hooks went up 1 extra inch, to guarantee that no shower curtain or liner rings could ever come off on their own without a very intentional effort... From what I can gander, this would be about 20% more ring metal material, so then the price could be 20% higher to compensate, and then everyone wins! I mean come on, $8? $10? At that price level, and with what's included (stainless steel and ball bearings and a beautiful finish), I don't think anyone would be hesitant to spend the extra buck or two for hooks that work a lot more reliably... most people looking for this product specifically are probably of the "I don't care what it costs, I want the best of the best" mentality, so why skimp? That's just my 2 cents, and would have happily been my extra 2 dollars for hook ends that were just a little bit taller. ... show more
