Had my trumpet mouthpiece stuck for a few days, and had tried every home remedy online having to do with water, ice, lubricants, etc. This device worked on the first try, and my mouthpiece was unstuck within 5 minutes of opening my amazon package. Important notes: 1) The bottom piece is to rest above the lead pipe, not below. This will serve as the platform that the upper piece pushes off from. 2) If you aren't careful, you can make a tiny scratch mark on the mouthpiece, so I would add a thin protective piece of cloth between the hard metal device's upper segment and the mouthpiece to avoid this. ... show more

I picked up an old horn at a yard sale for my God son. He soon picked up a newer "prettier"hon without a mouth piece . so.... he acquired the mouth piece from the yard sale horn and went his merry way. I found the old horn cleaning out the garage the other day and figured why not fix the old girl and try to make some beautiful music. So far it woks fine, my neighbors may argue with that assessment but, it's fun and the reweds are enormous. so dig out those old treasures and enjoy. I really had low expectations due to the price. They have a rounded edge on the rim, its pretty "soft" and comfortable - a very nice profile like a poor mans shilke symphony series. The cup is the proper depth and throat is approximately a 26 or 27. The stem is tapered perfectly for my YTRs, seals well, and is concentric with the back bore. It worked really well. It was a little difficult to turn the screws because the mouthpiece was jammed deeply into the trumpet. I used a wrench to turn the wingnuts and it pulled a very tightly jammed mouthpiece out of the trumpet. I'm very happy!!!

These mouth pieces provide for upper range playing up to double high E/F. Longer and larger bores for 3c, 5c, & 7c fit b flat trumpets and Flugel horns readily. However, not all b flat Coronets.
