Unfortunately, looks is pretty much all this set has going for it, and is why I wanted it to work so badly. It's nearly impossible to find any neat LED hardware if your theme is red, and these speakers definitely look cool as hell all lit up. The pulsing is basically a non-factor unless you have very heavy bass or your volume up all the way, but it is pretty damn cool when it works out. And for the first few months, the speakers even work fine. But after that, well... I bought my first set a while back and when they eventually died (after less than a year) I figured it was just an unlucky fluke and got a second set. That set just kicked the bucket on me today after an even shorter time frame. Mind you, I don't use them heavily, blasting sound at 100% 24/7--I just use them for gaming and some music, and before the sound starts to go out I don't even have the volume up more than about a quarter of the way. For most of this year I've actually been using headphones so the most recent set has gotten even less of a workout than the first! Unfortunately they're too expensive to risk trying again, as much as I want to love them. So, as much as it breaks my heart, I can't recommend these speakers. You'd be better off getting a more reliable set and trying to figure out cool lighting effects on your own, which unfortunately is what it looks like I'll have to do, since there's no comparable set elsewhere for looks. ... show more

    • Getting a replacement, but it's a hassle

The sound is good, and I love the blue lights. Bass is great. However, the left speaker stopped working after less than 9 months. It still lights up, but it does not produce sound. I got through to a very nice lady at their customer service and she explained that I had purchased the extended warranty, they could replace them for free. However, I have to send them back via FedEx. If it were UPS, I could just bring them in and they'd package them for me for free. FedEx charges $15 for that service. So I had to find a box and packing materials because I'm not paying $15 for someone to do that. I explained to her that I need the speakers for school, and she said she'd expedite the replacement order, but it still will take at least 4 days. In the meantime I have to (1) drag my desktop computer out and unhook everything, (2) hook up the speakers my boyfriend loaned to me in the meantime, (3) put the desktop back where it goes, then (4) basically repeat the process when the replacement arrives. Other companies have simply sent out a replacement, no questions asked, and said to simply discard the defective item. Or they would send out a replacement and I could then return the defective item in the box that the replacement came in. Huge hassle. Edit 5/10/17 It took TWO WEEKS to get my replacement, and it was defective too! Only the subwoofer worked; neither of the side speakers worked. I opened a chat with the company and said that at this point, I would just like a refund so I could purchase different speakers altogether. They informed me that they were unable to issue a refund, but would send me a replacement that has been "extensively tested." So back to packing them up and taking them to the Post Office. Again, huge hassle. I'm dumbfounded that I cannot simply return them for a refund. ... show more

If you are on a budget than this speaker system is it! like the headline says it is Damn loud! Found out the hard way by accident. Its really clear and you have the subwoofer to crank up the base which is nice. 2 things about this item are not as advertise 1. The lights are not that bright like in the pic but they are badass especially in the dark. 2. It does say pulse on the sub but when you press it all it does is turn on the lights and it does not pulse with any music or game or whatever you are doing. ... show more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! I'm a bass girl and these give off some pretty decent bass! I have mine sitting up in the overhead hutch on my office desk...they are a perfect fit! For true audiophiles these might not be the speakers for you. BUT for myself and anyone else out there that wants to listen to music while studying, working, or just for play these do the job perfectly. Oh and the sound is rather loud compared to other computer speakers...actually I have a beats pill and the sound on these is louder than the sound on the pill and I think the bass is better too but that is just my opinion. I've had the speakers for about 4 months now and the only con I've found so far is that the speakers are plastic and seem to be pretty flimsy so you'll have to be very careful with them. Also I did buy the red ones and if you're purchasing these because they look cool don't - the light, at least on mine, does not shine like they do in the picture. What are you doing still reading this????? BUY the speakers they are great! ... show more

Very surprised at how good this is. The one I got was the red light color and it is too cool. Makes you want to turn the lights down and get your groove on looking at the hypnotic red silhouette of the box and two speakers.Got a good deal at a great price on this item. When I opened the box I really thought that I paid cheap and got a little plastic toy. But my mind changed when I turned it on knew that I got something good. The red lights are really nice and I just didn't expect it to do to much after that. I watched a you tube video and thought the sound was very clear and nice. There was some music in the background later in the video and that kicked in and boy what a surprise. It can play some big bass. Had to turn it down. Plays great highs and lows. The speaker wires are joined together when you get it and it took me a moment to realize you have to pull the wires apart to better place and locate the speakers. Now that is the only down side on it but it works, looks good, sounds great and was good purchase for me. ... show more
