I needed something like this to work muscle tension in my back ranging from the upper buttock to shoulder/neck area. This does the trick nicely and it is STURDY. I tried a Theracane at work and while that product reaches the areas just as well as this does, this is much thicker and sturdier with no flex so all your effort goes directly into the tissue you are working. The Theracane is thinner and flexes - I could see it breaking if you really bear down. This is a beefy item and I can't see it breaking under any pressure I can put on it. The handle and grip areas are well placed and you can maneuver this pretty much anywhere you need. When you get the trigger point located you can really bear down on it almost any angle you choose. I am extremely pleased with the purchase and consider it money well spent. Yes, it is twice the cost of a lot of competitors but it is much sturdier and will likely be a lifetime purchase. What's an extra $15-16 when you are in pain and need relief - this will literally help you your entire life. ... show more

    • This is the BEST muscle hook - you will not find a better one. Trust me, I tried.
I first encountered one of these in Target, and wanted one ever since. I resisted buying it for a long time because I felt that it was expensive, but I could not find an equivalent product that worked as well. I finally broke down and just bought the damn thing. It helps me massage and ease painful spots on my back that I can't reach myself, and it works much better than the tennis ball technique that my physical therapist showed me. I have used "S" bars in the past and what I like about this one is the straight handle addition compared to traditional models. I also like the fact that is actually one solid piece vs 2 seperate pieces that snap together. Its really durable. The only thing I personally don't care for is the middle neck massager but other than that...its a solid spend. ... show more

Love it! Have you ever had a massage where your saying....up a little, now go right, too much go back a little, no thats too high, go down a bit, only to go round and round. This amazing tools helps me pin point those places so I can massage it myself. It is possible a much larger person might have trouble using this but for my body style this thing is amazing. Very solid, you will not bend this thing unless you're John Cena. Multiple pressure application points to reach different areas of the body. Absolutely marvelous for applying pressure and massaging back muscles and many more. Loosens those tight spots!     • Not the best for everyone
I really wanted to like this. So much so I was announcing the hours til this cane's delivery to all the roommates, an entire day in advance. I had another massage hook before this. A $9 Perfect. brand hook from Wal-Mart you can only buy now on eBay. I left it with a friend before I took a flight out of state, fearing it would be confiscated as a bludgeon. It felt silly to ask someone to mail me something I had paid so little for, but I should have. Instead, I figured I could spare a bit more money for a more deluxe version of the same thing. I have a lot of scar tissue in my back so I require a lot of pressure. This cane come thru on that front. The hook itself was so heavy I'm sure many arms would tire from use. I found that the only round nodes on this stick are for massaging along the spine. All the rest were oval, and I remain convinced this is why I don't find myself relieved when using this cane. It feels like the pressure I'm applying can't be concentrated exactly where I want it, and so I'm returning this tomorrow and logging into a decade old email to reset a password for a site I never use to buy myself the Perfect. $9 massager money can buy. ... show more
