Description

An ACDelco GM Original Equipment Audio Amplifier is part of the audio system, and is a GM-recommended replacement for your vehicle’s original component. The purpose of the amplifier is to increase the power of a voltage or current signal. The output signal of an audio amplifier may consist of the same frequencies as the input signal or it may consist of only a portion of the frequencies, as in the case of a subwoofer or midrange speaker. The audio amplifier amplifies the signal and sends it to the appropriate speakers. Each of the audio output channel circuits (+ and ?) at the audio amplifier have a DC bias voltage that is approximately one half of the battery voltage. The audio being played on the system is produced by a varying AC voltage that is centered around the DC bias voltage on the same circuit. The AC voltage is what causes the speaker cone to move and produce sound. Both the DC bias voltage and the AC voltage signals are needed for the audio system to properly produce sound. These original equipment audio amplifiers have been manufactured to fit your GM vehicle, providing the same performance, durability, and service life you expect from General Motors.

  • Fits 2012 GMC Acadia
The ad site said this amplifier did not fit in a 2012 Acadia, but it most certainly does. We pulled my amp out first and they have the exact same part number. Once installed, it worked great and fixed my problem. I must warn you that this is not an easy part to change. It is way down under the dash on the driver's side. It puts the person changing it in a very uncomfortable and awkward position. My son watched a you tube video first, which said it would take about 45 minutes to get the old one out, with the right tools. The screws are very hard to get at and remove. He made sure he had the right tools first, and it still took him about 1 1/2 hours to get the old one out. Installing the new amp did not take as long since he had the old one out already. ... show more

  • The part we needed
The part worked great and is exactly the fix we needed to get the sound back on my car. Shipping just took FOEVER on it. husband says installation was a bit of a hassle but it didn’t take him too long to get it done.

  • Amp fits and works great!! Exactly like factory equipment!
Amp fits and works great!! Exactly like factory equipment! I only gave one star for remove and install but, this has nothing to do with the amp or the quality. It is a beast to remove the old one and reinstall the new one. That is because GM shoehorned that amp into a very tight spot under the dash. There are only three screws holding it in but you can only see one of them. It took several hours to replace. Should have been a 30-minute job. The amp solved my problem of no radio sound. Also, I didn't realize the door chime and turn signal sounds are played through the stereo system. ... show more

  • Fits 2012 GMC Acadia
Amp fits perfectly for my 2012 GMC Acadia. The only downside was shipping kept getting delayed and probably took close to 3 months to finally get shipped.

  • Was exactly what I needed
Our amp went out in the Traverse and we ordered this one. Amazon was amazing with delivery and was very secure because it was an expensive item. I was extremely happy with that for both me and the seller. The item was exactly as described, it was the right part, and I installed it same day- it works! ... show more

  • Needed to replace when I lost all sound in 2015 Traverse
I ordered this to replace the amplifier in my 2015 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ that has eyebrow Bose stereo system. The amp stopped working after a couple of loud clicks then there was no sound from the radio, turn signals or even door chimes. I did research and found out that the amp was the likely culprit. I also looked into the removal and install and it looked a little above my DIY skill set. FYI the amp is tucked way up in the dash beside the steering column and very difficult to get to. I don’t have the flexibility that I used to so I took it to my local mechanic and he replaced it for me. It was $300 labor but money we’ll spent. The install is not technically difficult so if your patient, flexible and handy you can probably do it yourself. Installing the new amp has fixed all the sound and we are back to full functionality. ... show more

  • No radio or blinker sound
If your radio sound went out, but the radio still has power, this might be the fix. It also controls the blinker and door chime sounds. Not sure what caused it to fail, no signs of water under the dash where its mounted, but there was water in the rear door wire harness between the door and car body (2011 GMC Acadia SLT). I cut the rubber boots on the bottom to keep the water from accumulating again. I'm not sure where this water is coming from or how to fix it. The first amp replacement only lasted 18 months, but worked flawlessly during that time. I only gave 3 stars because most modern car amps have built in short circuit protection. If water was the issue that would have prevented the amp from failing. If water was not the issue, then I can only assume that some other component failed. I highly recommend adding Square trade or some other protection plan to your purchase. The amp is mounted under the drivers side dash, next to the steering column. YouTube has several good videos for removal and installation. ... show more
