  • REally Nice Alto SAx REcommended to any player
The media could not be loaded. this is a amazing alto sax im a beginner like player but i got a little training from a friend in the past to play it so after almost a month of having it i can say it play really well lows and high the pr series seem well built because i dont see the gaps lik other folks been saying it has so i guess getting the pr (professional ) model makes a difference in quality the finish i know a laquered finsish but seems to hold up very nicely. ill recommend this as a collecting and playing gift to anyone. the pr02 model is very decorative as also functional i provided some pictures to show its decorative side because i didnt see any photos of the PR models also of what it comes with it may not look like much but thats because its all in a little bag which hold the grease, cloth, gloves, reed saver, and teeth pads, also a pack of reeds which are not bad but of course i have others laying around a generic basic neck strap and mouthpiece with matching ligature ... show more

  • ARRIVED IN ONE PIECE TODAY - BUT - IT SMELLED LIKE STRONG GASOLINE AND MOUTH PIECES WAS FILTHY
My Alto Sax arrived inside the case put in a box, no bubble wrap or anything surrounding it to make sure it didn't get thrown around in the box during shipping...and, the box was badly beaten and the tape holding the box was coming loose. However, I lucked out, it came in one piece and nothing was bent nor broken, as far as I can tell for now. BUT - when as I opened the box, then the Sax case...a very strong odor like gasoline came wafting out. I'm not sure what that's all about. I have bought brand new Saxes before and none of them even had any smell. I ended up giving this Sax a instrument friendly bath and tossing the pad saver (the fussy thing attached to the end plug) in the kitchen sink to give it a bath...which smelled like gasoline the most. On to the mouth piece. Oh dear god, when I inspected it....whatever that while scummy and crusty stuff was inside the crevices of the mouth piece was sickening to look at. Looked like gelling fungus. Plus, the outside wad filthy. When I took the reed off and turned it over to look at the back of it, there was a lot of Black mold looking stuff on it. It was as if I got a very used mouth piece that had been sitting around and the just threw it in my shipment. NOT COOL! Good thing it can be cleaned and sanitized and it came with brand new reeds to put on it. If not, I would have returned this Sax on that merit alone. And, as others as have commented, it doesn't sound like a top shelf Sax like a celebrity player would play, but it sounds like a typical Sax that a professional player plays in a club band or orchestra. That's my opinion for the whole hour and a half I have had it. I decided to keep it for a bit and see how it all turns out. I will be back to update my opinion. My closing statement is to you, Glory company!!! Beef up the way you ship your instruments, these instruments should be treated better than that. Whatever chemical you're using during the production of your instruments..ditch it and use something else that doesn't smell like gasoline...that was horrible to breathe in and stunk my living room up like a dirty gas station, that's super gross. And, be sure to make sure the mouth piece is clean, sanitized and a put a brand new reed that's never been used on it before shipping reed mouthpieces out to customers. That was so gross having to clean out that white scum (whatever the hell that was) and seeing that Black moldy stuff on the reed. That's all for now. Hopefully, I'll be back with some better opinions that will gain you more stars for this Sax. ... show more

  • Antique finish is gorgeous & does not feel cheap!
We were scared to purchase. Afraid it would look and feel cheap. We got the antique finish and it's beautiful. Daughter said it feels quite similar and sounds similar to the much more expensive one she uses at school. She's very happy with it. Update Band instructor was pleased with it when he checked it out to see if it would be ok for her to use in the school band. His words were, "alright! Pretty cool!" lol ... show more

  • Please reconsider
I beg you to reconsider buying this instrument if it is for your child. The springs break, the finish rubs off and gets grimy, the keys bend and break, and the pads start to disintegrate. Every one I have an interaction with starts to fall apart after just a few months, and they are so hard, if not impossible to fix. It may play and feel just fine at the start, just as many of the reviews indicate, but it will not bring your student musician the success they deserve! Please reconsider buying this instrument! ... show more

  • Great sax
This is great trust me I just got mine today and I was really skeptical considering that I bought it for $200. The only problem is I don’t know what material it is but it seems like it’ll last a pretty long time. Also it has metal resonators which is amazing. Mouth piece is also really good. The intonation is actually really good also low note come out with ease. Would recommend. ... show more
