I am a beginner drummer at the age of 42. I though working on rudiments would be a great way to practice. So far as my first experience with a practice pad, it is really helpful. The pad thick and the wood is thick. The pad provides a good bounce. The material feels great quality. The wood is definitely some sort of OSB or composite material but it is really hard. It has a soft padding layer on the bottom to allow you to use it on a table or anywhere. The included stand is very handy and adjustable. You can easily adjust the height and angle of the pad. It also comes with a drum stick holder, which makes it really convenient to stick in a corner and everything is already put together and ready to go. Overall for the price, I would highly recommend this for any drummer to get some practice anywhere. ... show more

Now with this you only get one. If you're trying to learn drumming you will obviously need to get more. This is a silent pad (no you cannot plug headphones anywhere to get sound). I got this for my teenage son who is in band at school and is learning to play all instruments. He needed some sort of drums to practice at home and I thought this came with at least two (based on the picture). But I was wrong. My youngest daughter expressed an interest in learning the drums. I told her lets find a beginners set to see if that is something she wants to continue to pursue. I did some looking online and came across this Drum practice pad with an iron drum stand set and sticks. This set was designed for beginners and was all inclusive, even includes the drum sticks. All that you need to get started. The material seems premium grade and durable. My daughter has been practicing every day since she received her new set. Also, this has an adjustable iron stand that ranges from 24" -37" that works well in conjunction with the 12" pad. Additionally, the drumsticks are smooth and simple to hold for beginners.     • Great practice pad!
I got this for my sister, who is trying to learn to play drums. She has been using it consistently and enjoys how it feels. It's also great because I barely hear her while she is playing next door to me. For a beginner, this works very well!

For the price, this is a very good set. It's lightweight, so don't expect it to withstand much abuse or constant adjusting / moving. That being said, the thumb screw connecting the higher tube is maybe the most suspect and likely to give. If you push hard enough (and it doesn't take much), the stand will gradually drop. The sticks are fine, but an afterthought. They are on the light side, and not akin to a pro pair of sticks. It's nice that this includes the stick holder to attach to the stand. The pad itself is pretty nice. It's a little on the heavy side, with a little less give than the higher-priced pads, but it's rather good for the price. The underside is padded for use on a table top. It was very simple to set up and get going on it. It's a good option if you don't need to travel with it, move it, or take it apart and put it back together much. I almost forgot to mention that the bolt that connects the pad to the top (and the hole in the pad) are not standard size, which is a little annoying, since you can easily change practice pads because of this. ... show more

The item arrived with a missing bolt. The drum pad is pretty much useless without the bolt; the pad just spins as it’s being hit with the drum stick which makes it difficult to use. I reached out to the seller and never received a response.
