Keeps the rotted fence post sturdy Easy to use... I suggest using a 3 to 5 pound hand sledge to make driving the post into the ground easier. Worth every penny.

    • Secured the fence, but couldn't stand storm

My fence was wobbly, I purchased this are the fence was secure and didn't wobble. I pushed and banged up against and it was good and felt strong. Then 3 weeks later, we had a strong storm come thru with winds up to 75mph. The very fence with the reinforcements snapped, left bottom of post in ground, just snapped above it. So I would say they are good to use, but if you have an old fence, probably also use a 4 to 6ft steel rod to make sure the post doesn't snapped and remains intact with this. ... show more

This is nice and does hold the post well after install. A few modifications though the welds do need to be upgraded since using a sledge hammer it does crack them. Also the screws need to be upgraded for two reasons, one for pressure treated posts and two since they do snap when using an impact driver to install them. The design is great. The spike is offset so that you can hammer it in past where the old concrete ends that's holding your post. And of course, this thing is made to be hammered into place, but after a few hits with the hammer, the metal reinforcement piece that was spot-welded to the back fell off. Still, we made it work. It’s holding a fence post that had rotted at the bottom in place, eliminating the need for a lot more work. ... show more

I had a post that had snapped during a particularly bad windstorm. I really didn't want to go through the hassle of digging up the concrete, etc. This was perfect. I did use a block of wood when I pounded it in, so I think that mitigated the weld problem that other reviewers have had. I also used self-drilling deck screws, and they seem to be fine. It is nice, though, that they give you all of the hardware, including a drill bit and the driver bit. I obviously kept all of these. This repair kit really saved me a ton of time and work. Eventually, I will install a metal post, but until then, this seems sturdy enough to hold my wooden post for quite some time. ... show more

These repair stakes saved me hundreds of dollars. Our wood posts were getting loose on the bottom One contractor said we would have to replace the entire stretch of fence (16 ft) for $2400. Definitely did NOT want to Do that. Another contractor said to dig up posts and remove concrete base and replace the Concrete - Cost was around $1000 for this. Then I saw these and said why not let’s try it. They worked Perfectly and all posts are totally secured. Total cost was $200 (4 stakes and including labor). Extremely easy to install & set up get yourself a rubber mallet or hammer pound it into place, drill into your existing wood post and done! VERY supportive this is my 2nd one purchased and honestly debating about getting a handful to secure every other post!
