I've worn this helmet for 600 miles in the year since I bought it. It's good-looking, fits well and firmly, is comfortable, and the custom-fitted visor works well. The fitted visor is also good at fending off swarms of insects! Not all eyeglasses fit underneath it, but I have a wrap-around pair of prescription variable-tint polarized sunglasses that fit fairly well and work well optically. Possible areas for future improvement: (1) the visor is somewhat delicate and hard to store - too delicate, and the magnets too weak and too obliquely placed, to store upside down above your forehead as designed. A storage/travel box for the visor would be good. (2) this helmet has more air noise than most other helmets I've worn. Not horrible, but noticeable. (3) it costs too much. ... show more

Let me get the cons out of the way to start. On several rides now with excessive humidity, high dew point, and elevated heat index the visor has slightly fogged. And if you go through an actual fog it can fog up a little. A little annoying. I just received Frog Spit defogger today to try and help that problem out. On those days above with a high temp there are a few warm spots with full sun to the left and right of the crown. While moving, I noticed if I looked back over my shoulder air would hit those spots nicely. No case to carry the helmet. Had to buy one. Other than those things listed above, this helmet rocks! SIZING: I had my wife measure my head different times and with balaclava on and headband too. Decided on a medium and the Giro recommended measurements for helmet size seem accurate. I was worried about too much light coming from bottom of visor but my eyes rarely notice and the visor on the medium fits nice and close to the bridge of my nose. It’s dark and clear enough too. Bought a clear second visor for fall/winter rides as well as night rides. COMFORT: the tightening mechanism on top of the helmet tightens all around my head at once for an even feel around my head. It’s easy to adjust while riding too. I’ve been riding awhile so this is easy to do especially when going into the drops and making minor adjustments to maximize aero feel. CHIN STRAP: easy to adjust and sits flat against my face. I also use Cat Ears and works great with those too. AIR FLOW: I can feel air cooling head from the top and on the back of my neck. It’s a little loud but the cat ears help some. VISOR: cool look. Is vented for air flow across my face. Easily and securely fits upside down when taking off and magnets grab nicely. Especially when putting it on you can hear it snap into place. STORAGE/TRANSPORT: contacted Giro to see if case or visor case available and they recommended a helmet bag. So, I bought a Catlike whisper case and works fine with this helmet. What else can I say? It’s easy to take off and put on during breaks. I shopped for hours, compared helmets, measured crazily, and got the medium Vanquish in matte black...great helmet! Glad I bought it. ... show more

Although it took a bit to get used to removing and reattaching the magnetic visor while cycling for wiping away perspiration, that was a tiny hurdle and I love this helmet with integral visor! No sunglasses required although the visor can be removed and sunglasses used if so desired. Very light weight, easy to adjust the strap to the right tension needed, and good visibility with the white portion of the helmet. Possibly a tad pricey, but the visor bought alone is $70, so $230 for a quality helmet to protect one's head is a very fair price. ... show more

Product review: Loving this new helmet I got recently. I wear glasses and it fits perfect underneath the eye shield. In honesty for the price I paid I think Giro could have refined few details of the helmet for the price but overall great fit, light weight, comfortable and color looks great. I am loving the magnet attachments for the lens. For product itself I would give 4/5 stars for considering the price. Seller review: The product was delivered in time as promised and the seller actually kept me updated on what is happening. For the Seller I would give 6 out of 5 stars if I can. He went above and beyond on his customer service. I wanted actually delivered it earlier and he did not fail. I would definitely buy it again from this seller. ... show more

Love it. During a recent round of treatment for basal skin cancer on my face you could see the imprint of my sunglasses from years of bike commuting in the sun. Wearing sunblock runs into my eyes and blurs the lenses of sunglasses so instead I decided to check out this visor. Definitely get more double takes with the alien like look, but keeps the sun off the top part of my face. Its comfortable and fits well too. You have to be a bit careful with it as the lense can get knocked off easily, but that's my only complaint thus far. Airflow's nice. I've only been using it for a few weeks. Expensive helmet. I ordered it because it had a Mips safety rating and also for the visor shield. I am satisfied with the quality of the helmet but unfortunately the Onyx shield was cracked just like other reviews I read. I corresponded via email with the seller who informed me that they didn't have any onyx shield in stock. I opted for another shield. I don't remember if it was clear or emerald but I made a decision to replace the shield rather than a refund. Our correspondence ended and I never received a replacement shield. ... show more
