I bought these frames for framing my soft pastel paintings which I painted on 9"x12" paper. I have to cut it by a little bit in order to fit inside the frame. The mat is kind of thin but at this price point it I'm not complaining. The glass is real glass, not acrylic and is clear, but I had to clean it first as it was kind of not very clean. The photo frames themselves are fine for the price. On the back, the metal levers that hold the cardboard cover to the frame don’t necessarily have room to completely turn to hook themselves under the edge of the frame — but they will turn to fit at least partially under the edge of the frame, enough to get the job done. I don’t expect perfection at this price point. The most annoying part of this product is its styrofoam packaging. Although it protected the frames just fine (no damage at all), it’s that kind of cheap, brittle styrofoam that wants to shed a hundred tiny pieces of itself from the slightest touch — including sliding the styrofoam shell out of the cardboard outer box that it comes in. Make a note: Unpackage this outdoors or in your garage, or you’ll be chasing tiny bits of styrofoam inside your home for a week. ... show more

These are nice frames that include a mat for 5x7 pictures but not too large like the 8x10 frames with the 5x7 mat. I used them to frame a counted cross stitch picture I made. It looks good with or without the mat.
