  • Very sturdy, the slightly thicker rings are easier on my hands, numbered straps make easy adjustment
I saw a YouTube video by a guy who says "Use gymnastics rings to build yourself up to a pull up." I'm 68 and I think I might have done one pull up when I was 14, so this has been on my bucket list the last year or so. The rings are a bit thicker than most, 1.25" instead of 1.11", so they're easier on my hands. They do come with a few small rough spots, so I sanded them with 600 grit sandpaper to remove any microsplinter possibilities, and then taped them. The tape also adds some thickness. You adjust the length the ring is hanging down by the use of carabiners at each ends of the strap. For gymnastics use, you'd be hanging them on a rod pretty high up, but I'm just hanging them on a pull up bar that's only 6'6" high in my bedroom doorway. I figured out I had to wrap the straps around and clip one on the outside and the other on the inside. If you do this in a consistent way, you can get the same numbers in each strap, and they will be perfectly level. In the photos, I started with the high number, 34, facing me at the top. I put the strap through the ring once, then clipped it to 22. I put the other end through the ring, back up over the bar, and down to clip it in at 15. I don't know if that makes any sense, but it works. Still haven't done a pull up. I overdid my first two workouts and then got DOMS really bad, and now I'm recovered and ready to start again. ... show more

  • Very Functional
The rings work perfectly for what I needed it for. Attached them to my chin-up bar & am using them as a major stepping stone towards doing more overhand pull-ups. They’re durable & easy to use. I’m super happy with them!

  • Nice quality rings - need some prepping before use
Strong, solid rings. I feel confident hanging from these and even going upside down. Wood is nice quality, but not very smooth. They are not made out of solid wood, but layers of wood glued together - which creates splintery ridges. The rings come with a nice foam tape for the part you will grip - so this roughness will not bother most people. The splintery edges kept catching on the webbing that they were hanging from (which pushed my OCD button)... so I sanded them and finished them with polyurethane. Now they are not only smooth but pretty. I personally found the adjustable straps overly complex to use (though they are a cool concept and are very sturdy). I ended up just hanging them from nylon climbing slings (using a clover hitch) and then a large carabiner to hang from my pullup bar. ... show more

  • Great rings
I prefer wood over plastic. Just don't let them get wet. I was unsure of what diameter to get. I just use these to work out and am not a gymnast. CrossFit uses the 1.25 so I figured I'd give them a try being I had plastic 1.1" rings. I made the right choice. The extra thickness will get build a stronger grip. The only drawback from the carabiner type is that if you are working off a high anchor point, you will need a ladder to clip the top biner. After that, adjusting is a breeze. It you are working off a chin up bar, etc, it's a non-issue. ... show more

  • Great addition to my home gym! Let's you do so many workouts
This has been one of the best additions to my home gym. I use it to stretch - really helpful for the upper chest and back stretches. Great for strength training. Push ups are challenging, and you can hit a variety of angles just by changing your arm position so you can simulate incline, decline, etc. I really like them as supports for leg squats as I've been trying to build strength into deep and single leg pistol squats. Overall great purchase for the versatility. ... show more

  • Worth it!
It works perfect, I do weighted pull ups and push ups and works fine! What I liked the most about it’s that the straps are safer than other models.
