  • Great step up
Easy to install and a makes getting into the back of the truck bed easy as 1, 2, 3.

  • OEM
Use a torque wrench to secure it properly. Also, have patience. It's a little difficult to install.

  • Makes life easier
I carried a folding step when camping but not around town. It cost $20 but did not want stolen or sliding around bed in town. I realized that when I'm loading stuff in at curbside pickup or Home depot I had to use tire as step to climb in. Then when I got home same thing. So I broke down and bought this because the sooner you get it the more use you will get. Works great and use all the time. Plenty sturdy. Installation was easy. I used torque wrench and started the first bolt to frame by hand which will hold in place while tightening. Yes you need a socket wrench and extension but I don't know how someone can get by without basic tools. Could probably get by without torque wrench and just make tight. 33 lbs and 66 lbs is not a huge amount. If you have a need to climb in bed periodically get it. Don't wait years. ... show more

  • Great Product & Addition
Very nice product. Would definitely recommend this to any Tacoma owner who ever has the need to step into the truck bed. Solid construction, easy to install, a ‘must have’ item.

  • Great step up for truck bed
i am older so it was difficult getting on to the truck bed. it is no longer a problem. so easy to pull out and step into truck bed now. i made the mistake of getting a step up hitch but it is useless because you cant use it when the truck bed gate is down. definitely recommend this step up.

  • why is it designed to be very hard to install .. one simple change would be better.
Designed to be very hard to install where you must have certain special tools. One simple design change to have the connection to the truck frame from the underside of the connection vs on top with little room to work and no way to see what you are doing. And why does Toyota NOT make one for the passenger side??? And related is the VERY POOR design of the Head Unit (Music - lack of maps - no built-in android support like for Apple) I was told by a Service tech that Toyota is 7 years behind in this area and are making lots of issues to try to catch up!!! Plus wind noise with back loaded down - told to just put some molding between windshield and dashboard (the user has to fix:-( .... 1st trip with new truck - more to come... ... show more

  • Just an installation note
Once the mechanism is installed the last step is to install the plastic step itself. You insert 3 flat nuts into blind pockets in the step and snap the step into place on the bracket. You then install 3 bolts from below through the step, the metal bracket and into the nuts. It was confusing because the bolts should feed through a hole in the step, through the metal bracket and then screw into the pocket nuts. What happened is that the bolts thread themselves into the plastic hole and seem almost to torque when they strip and start spinning. They haven't even gotten to the actual steel nuts so you have to press on, literally, until they get past the false threads they made in the plastic hole and actually connect with the nuts. I thought I'd stripped the first bolt and took it apart before understanding it. If you weren't using a torque wrench and or were less experienced you might think it was bolted on when it was just self-threaded into the hole (not the nut). I think the heavy zinc coating (a good thing) may make the bolts larger than the hole and cause the false threading. ... show more

  • Good Product and Quality Yet Cheaper Than the Other Brand
Love this bed step! Makes getting into my bed with the tailgate down, so much EASIER! The 1st time I jumped into the bed of my 2020 Tacoma Sport, was on a 45 degree incline and boy that was tough! I had to jump and stick one finger into the bed D-ring and pull myself up. Boy, that was rough! I know I could of stepped on the tire and pulled myself up, but Tacomas have a problem with the bed widening due to the composite bed and no, I cannot put bed stiffeners in because of my bed extender is in the way. Toyota should of made pullout steps in the tailgate like other brands do. Still, it's a good product and I would definitely buy again! ... show more
