  • Works great so far!!
I’m new to CNC machining and have learned quite a bit since I got the new ProXL 4030 v2 about a month ago. I have a few prototypes of a cribbage board and they are looking good! The machine was simple to assemble and get up and running and is pretty solid. I also have the 1313 extension kit that I will be converting over to this week and plan to start cutting out cabinet frames for a kitchen remodel. It will make that process much quicker. Overall very satisfied with the machine and I look forward to learning more techniques and tricks to use it for a variety of projects. ... show more

  • Go ahead and get this one
I gave it 5 stars because it just worked. I've watched other people put a whole lot of time into assembly and software and settings... And this was pretty painless. I gave 4 stars for "For Beginners" because it still doesn't come right out of the box ready to go. Tech Support gets 3 stars because even though the manual is nicely printed, the instructions are incomplete, and the images may be too small for some people to discern. 1) All the tools you need for assembly are in the box. This includes a USB drive with the driver and Candle software which controls the CNC. 2) Screws are labelled and there is one extra of each. 3) Mounting the gantry is pretty obvious. Mounting the wiring may take a bit of intuition. However, all of the wired connections (2 for each motor and the spindle) are labelled so there's no excuse for not connecting this up correctly. The wires are all ganged together in a single cable. It comes with a USB cable. 4) Copy the contents of the USB drive to your computer. Unzip the and install the driver. 5) The Candle software (Windows, Mac or Linux) doesn't need installation. 6) Power it up. Select the correct USB port. 7) Press the home button and the CNC should find home in 3 axes. 8) For a test - to see the device do its thing - jog the spindle (sans cutting bit) to the forward/left quadrant of the cutting service and bring the spindle down about 50 mm, a few inches above the cutting surface. Be careful to not hit any limit switches while doing this. 9) Load one of the example files and press send. The CNC should turn on the spindle and start outlining the image. You can track progress in the Candle app. If you do hit a limit switch - not during the home sequence - while manually jogging the or running a file the "Alarm" flag will show. Hit the unlock button and jog the motor away from the home switch. You may have to do this twice. ... show more

  • Fantastic machine, amazing support
I bought the genmitsu proverxl v2, i pit it together and tested it, found out a small limit switch was not working, probably knocked while i put the machine together. I contacted the support as got a response right the next business day, without further discussions, they shipped me a new part, followed up when it was delivered to confirm if my issue with resolved. Regarding the machine itself, I have been working with the machine without that switch for around a month now, it is an amazing and powerful machine “mounting Dewalt 611 router” ... show more

  • Terrible product and customer service.
I was excited to get this machine with all the upgrades in the v2. Was expecting it to work right of the box as well. What I got was much less. One of my eccentric nuts was not right. Brought up to customer service they told me those are set at the factory. And? Why do I have one not properly set? They did nothing to help. I had to figure out myself. I bought their brand laser as an add on. Took me 2 weeks to get that going. I was supposed to use a wire that did not come with laser or machine... fixed that myself (they eventually sent me a wire). Once I got the laser issues fixed I find out I have a y bearing going out. That was 2 weeks ago. Customer service told me it would be 3 days as they were out of stock. I'm still waiting. Have had my machine 6 weeks and have done very little as it is plagued with problems. Customer service is typically nice when and if they respond. Might take them 1 day. Might take them 4. I'd highly suggest looking elsewhere to start your desktop cnc journey. I throughly regret giving sainsmart a chance. Edit: So after leaving this review they magically have bearings in stock. As they sent me multiple message and tracking info for the bearings. Also worthy of note. Amazon inflates their seller rating. You can see this yourself. If go to seller page it says 100% positive in last 12 months. Yet if you search 1 star or critical reviews there are plenty of them. Amazon puts a line through them and does not count them. Do your research before you make the same mistake as me. Sainsmart is terrible. ... show more

  • Great Little Machine!
This is my first CNC router and overall, I’m happy with it. Out of the box it came partially assembled and the parts that needed assembly were straight forward. All the wiring is clearly labeled so that isn’t a problem either. I would recommend getting an upgraded spindle or router for this machine right away though. The one that comes with the machine is a bit underpowered. Their customer service is helpful and very responsive as well. I had an issue with the spindle not turning on which was entirely my fault and they were able to help me through it. ... show more

  • Thanks for your help
I'm new to CNC. The machine assembly was very straightforward. I had a small issue getting my laptop to connect but Tech Support quickly resolved the issue. I tried executing my first job and somehow crashed the router into the bed. Afterward I could not home the machine and it just was acting kind of erratic. I contacted Tech Support again and they helped me determine that there was an issue with the Z axis motor. They sent me new cables and a motor at no charge. Once installed, everything works great. I was very impressed the responsiveness and knowledge of Sainsmart Tech Support. Today I ran my first job and it worked as expected. ... show more
