Description

The GEARWRENCH 80972 209 Piece ¼” Drive, 3/8” Drive, ½” Drive SAE & Metric, Standard & Deep, 6 Point Impact Socket Master Set, provides the full range of sockets and impact drive tool accessories to cover a full range of fastener sizes from 3/16” – 1-1/2” & 4mm - 36mm. All of the 6-point standard and deep impact sockets within the set feature high-visibility laser-etched markings and secondary hard stamped size markings provide quick size identification. The SAE and metric sockets are made from Chrome molybdenum alloy steel (Cr-Mo) for exceptional strength and durability, have a manganese phosphate finish to resist corrosion with off-corner loading design to reduce fastener rounding. The sets impact drive tool accessories include: impact universal joints, to provide angled access to more fasteners, impact extension bars, to provide additional reach and access to more fasteners, and impact adapters, allowing the impact drive tools to work with additional drive size of sockets.

You get every size up to 1-1/2" in SAE and 36mm in Metric in 1/2" drive, and it even has very small sizes in 1/4" drive. I can't remember needing 1/4" impact before, but I have them now. We have an off-grid property, and I got tired of needing tools that I didn't have. This set gives us the ability to handle just about everything ourselves. Love these sockets, iv only broke 1 socket i believe a 9mm 12p for a stuck slack adjuster. They hold up every bit as good as my snap-on rail if not better! They are nice, heavy, well labeled sockets!

7/16 3/8 drive regular was cut 5/16 size. Missing 24mm 1/2 drive deep because duplicate 23mm 1/2 drive deep was sent. Missing 9mm 1/4 drive regular because duplicate 6mm 1/4 drive regular was sent. Sockets come in bags in cardboard boxes. Some sockets come individually wrapped inside those larger bags. Some sockets are an off color. Not all things that are of major concern when you're going to beating them up every day anyway, but in conjunction with the deficiencies mentioned above I don't believe it's too much to ask to open a box you just spent half a month's mortgage on and find everything already in order in a tray. Too many reviews with quality control issues for it to be a fluke. People swear by Gearwrench, but it makes you wonder where else the quality control is lacking across their line of products. Seem like solid quality when you hold them, though. I will be using them for heavy duty applications, so I'll update after a while. ... show more

    • Love Gear Wrench but i do not love missing sockets
I like the product it is good quality but as far as being complete it is not missing 3 1/2 short well sockets and 6 3/8 sockets 3 deep 3 short packaging was pretty much destroyed when it made it to my porch via UPS upon talking to customer service i could not get them to send out out missing sockets so i returned them to amazon ... show more

Just received my sockets/extensions/adapters this afternoon. Like others said, they come in plastic bag’s inside a heavy duty box. That said, that was the least of my concerns. My concerns were getting the correct number of pieces and no duplicates after reading some other reviews. No duplicates. Very nice impact socket set. In all, especially for the discounted price, I think this deal would be hard to beat. Also, I didn’t give it 5 stars (yet), only b/c I haven’t had a chance to test their durability. I may edit the rating later after I get to use them. So far, I’m a happy camper 👍😁 Edit: 6/30/2023 Seem to be holding their own very nicely with an air impact gun and a Dewalt 20v impact gun. Great quality and quantity I've been a mechanic for over 20 years I've used all the the big names in the game. From the pull up tool trucks to the cheap local tool store. So believe me when I say you can't beat the quality and quantity for the price. Every impact socket an automotive tech could ever need is provided. They have good weight behind them SO THEY HIT HARD and the finish holds up nicely. With easy to see sizing. My 1/2 impact has just over 1000 foot pounds and I haven't broken a single socket yet IVE DEFINITELY BECOME A GEARWRENCH GEAR HEAD OVER THE YEARS looking forward to purchasing more of there products 👍 ... show more
