The media could not be loaded. I purchased this machine 6 months ago and it's been an extremely frustrating experience using this machine. I should not have gone for it after reading the reviews and should have returned it after using it the first time. I kept it anyway, thinking how bad could it be. I wanted to like it. Big mistake. It’s bad. Very bad. I wish I could give this machine a negative 5 rating. Now that it started to leak, I will be contacting support and sharing updates here. Good: 1. Looks. 2. Large reservoir. Bad: 1. It's all plastic. Flimsy and poorly designed. 2. The grinder chokes every few days and needs clearing. 3. When the grinder works, it spills coffee grounds everywhere but in the filter. The minimum setting gives you ground coffee more than you can keep in the filter. You can't get the perfect setting so you have to manually stop the grinder. 4. The pump keeps making a sound after you are done brewing. You will have to wait for some time before you can start frothing milk. 5. The coffee portafilters have sharp edges so if you want to remove the filter by hand you will have micro cuts on your thumb and finger. 6. There is always water under the drip tray, with every single use. Not recommended at all. Update: GE Customer Support sent me a replacement however the new machine isn't different. It lasted for 4 months and by then my warranty period expired. The same issues are repeated. ... show more

Was given this as a gift for Father's Day gift, it is a pretty great machine. Connecting to the Smart HQ app is nice to set volumetric dosing for shots (only in ounces), grind time, and water temperature 194°F (darker roasts) to 208.4°F (lighter roasts). You can also manually program as well. The Grinder is only 15 LARGE Steps, but it still has the same range as similar models that have 30 Steps+. It is easy to potentially clog the machine, but it can be cleaned out with the brush and maybe a metal chopstick to break up any retained grounds. This machine has a lot of retention, explaining why they recommend weekly cleaning of the grinder. The steam wand is POWERFUL, much more powerful than comparable models within the family. Overall, this a very good machine with a high quality portafilter and heavy-duty metal tamper. Worth every penny. ... show more

    • Not smart and has had so many issues
The app doesn't actually do anything so when you have an issue, you have to scour the internet for what a certain light means. Pretty sure the motor crapped out with the grinder and I've had it less than a year. (UPDATE: took over a month but I sent it in and they sent me a new one without a warranty and this one is no better. Low pressure that gives out and the grinder jams up) ... show more

    • Great machine. Buy it, but only if know how choose your beans first!
The media could not be loaded. This is an amazing espresso machine with a decent integrated grinder. The key is to choose medium roast coffee beans.. with no more than 3 weeks since roasted. Configure the grinder to the finest position and add between 17 and 17.5 grams of coffee. The timing depends on your ratio taste preference: ristretto 1:1-1.5 or espresso 1:1.5-2.5 or lungo 1:2.5-4. Pros: Great value/money. Excellent heater. Good pump. Good grinder. Awesome design, quality and performance. So far, so good! Cons: you cannot turn it on/off through the app or remotely. You have to heat up the portafilter pulling some hot water through it, which means more often cleaning up and descaling. Sorry if the engglish wasn't the best. Hope you enjoy the video with the additional recipe of my favorite iced coffee in the video. Not my best espresso in that pull, btw.. but a decent one. My ig @srmacchiato ... show more

This machine hasn’t worked since the first use. The bean grinder hasn’t worked at all and the suggestions given to me when I brought it up to the seller were all things i already tried. I have cleaned it time and time again, and yet it still doesn’t work. I also was NEVER able to connect to the app even when I first got it. Then I was ghosted by the seller after my second message and then they took away my ability to message them through amazon. Super disappointed in all aspects of this machine and the company. ... show more
