  • Not bad average chair with a few flaws
Color: Grey
Have had this chair for 6 months now, time for a time tested review. With the covid situation this past year and working from home, needed a new ergo chair to replace my 6 yr old Costco $99 chair. In looking and reviewing many different chairs had some requirements which this chair satisfied, incorporated in the pro/con below. Pro: 1. Have a slightly higher than normal desk, most chairs do not raise high enough (on avg seat height is 17-18") this chair met my first requirement of raising to 23". 2. I also purchased different wheels to attach during assembly (which gave about 1" of additional height), also they roll better on hardwood then the typical cheap wheels that come with chairs. 3. Seat width slightly wider, I'm not a large guy (34" waist) just like the room, as I am sitting almost all day in the chair with work. 4. Decent lumbar support for my body and is somewhat adjustable. 5. Armrest height decent for being a fixed type (non-adjustable). 6. Sliding leg rest is not too bad. Not something I use, the few times I have it was comfortable. Especially if you lean back. 7. Head rest is decent as well works for me so no major complaints there. Con. 1. Stitching in the seat area starting to come out. See attached picture. Would have at least expected a year before any stitching would start to unravel. This actually started about 2 months ago so the chair was only about 4 months in use. My cheap Costco chair lasted over 2 years before stitching started coming out. 2. See other 2 pictures, on one side the seat wing broke couple weeks ago comparing to the other picture on how it should look. Again I'm not a big person, I do sometimes sit with a foot up under my knee. This was not expecting to break, it is mostly cosmetic, more disappointing. 3. As someone else mentioned the seat padding is minimal and after sitting daily on it for 6 months, it is mostly flattened. I did have a previous chair pad that I will need to pull out and use on it. 4. Although the armrests are decent height for me, I do wish they adjusted. Also as others have reported they are a hard plastic and very uncomfortable bare. I saw that in the reviews and purchased memory foam pads for them so that made them acceptable. 5. The vibrating lumber support is a joke. As I mentioned in the pro the pad itself is decent and works for me. As another reviewer stated it is more like a trickle. Tried it once and have not again. 6. The gas shock appears to be starting to slightly leak. Couple times here lately I have started getting that slow sinking feeling and realized the chair was slowly going down. Does not do it all the time, but has several times. Overall the chair is decent and do like the height it offers. Will see how long it actually does last. ... show more

  • NOT for work from home jobs!!! (thorough review)
Color: White
(apologies for improper grammar, I'm still learning the English language) I bought this based on many other 5 star reviews but made the mistake of not reading any negative reviews. I gave the review a 5 star so others who click on 5 stars can see this review and get a real review without needing to dig for negative ones. This product boasts a lot of bells and whistles, yet none of them proved useful for long hours of working from home jobs. The almost non-existent butt and back support cushions in this chair are HILARIOUS. If you're 5'7-5'8 or shorter, get ready to feel like a child sitting in a giants chair. I'm 5'7 and I barely touch the ground while laying slightly back to attempt to get comfortable in my seat on the lowest hydraulic setting. Let's not forget the amount of space available on the bottom half of the chair, you sit in it and slide all the way to the back of the chair where the back support and butt support meet, and your legs will not bend on the knee, it'll feel like you must extend your legs outwards to feel any sort of comfort, and that is a problem while typing or using your mouse. They provide a leg support system (which looks flimsy, but that's not the point) that compensates for that issue of discomfort, but not the issue of not being able to reach your desk due to extending your legs forwards unless you're particularly flexible. The vibration system is more of an accessory than it is a useful part of the chair comfort experience.. like yeah... cool... it vibrates... so what? it's not a MASSAGE system, it just vibrates a little.... so kind of a scam there for upping the price. Not to mention the vibration system is powered by USB... that means more cords to step over when getting in and out of the chair. not a bonus at all. the head support is okay, the capability of the chair to bend almost 180 degrees is cool, good for quick naps or such (I've never napped in it so far). Also, it's faux leather, aka easily heats up your body after prolonged sitting, not fun... I weigh 150 lbs so I have no issue using this chair's full space and capabilities, but I doubt anyone on the heavier side would comfortably want to use the chair's "Go all the way back and down" back support system. This chair is for children who want to show off their new toy to their friends, or avid video gamers that don't care about comfort. that's it. not worth the purchase, gifted it to my little sister and she loves it, go figure. ... show more

  • Not bad

Shipping was several days faster than predicted which was a nice surprise. The shipping cost was pretty expensive in my opinion, especially whenever I'm used to paying nothing with Prime. The chair does not come pre-assembled at all, it took quite a while to put together and almost every screw was really difficult to go in. My wrists were hurting halfway through. I don't plan on using the footrest often but bought this model specifically for the massage and footrest just in case I ever wanted it. However, it gets stuck on the bars for the armrests when pulling it out and it gives quite a bit when resting your legs making me wonder how long it would last with regular use. The armrests are completely stationary which almost caused me not to buy this chair. They are sunken slightly in the center, I'm not sure if this is intended to make them more comfortable but either way they're not. Thankfully, I already had cushions to go over them because they definitely need it. I bought this as an office chair rather than a gaming chair and after only an hour or so sitting in it I was already getting uncomfortable. Honestly though, I haven't found a chair yet that is comfortable for sitting 8 hours continually. Because of this I already have a good set of cushions that helped make it more comfortable. Because the chair bottom is shaped like a bucket seat with the edges coming up on the sides it's also not comfortable to sit with your feet in the chair if you're like me and typically do. But perhaps it's better to discourage that behavior. The cord on the lumbar massage is far too short. I can barely reach an outlet and have to unplug it every time I want to move my chair. Overall, not a terrible chair. Only time will tell how well it holds up though. ... show more
