I haven’t installed the base in the boat yet but the thing is nice even for the price. I’d have been happy with the quality at double the price but very happy I didn’t have to pay that :-). Mostly metal giving it a quality feel. Yes there’s plastic but more as a cover than structural to the piece. Only two things I would say could be better would be a backplate for the base. Would've given 5 stars, the one thing is unless you have huge wiring, you'll have a gap between the male plug and the wires as the hole is pretty big. Not a show stopper, I just siliconed it up to prevent water intrusion. Robust unit for sure. Quick arrival too.

This is a great quality heavy duty trolling motor plug. Install can't be any easier. No need to solder or crimp wire into place. Plug has screws to lock wire in receptacles. This plus is super heavy duty. The wire connections each have two set screws to secure the wire in place and a locking connection. I installed it on my 24v 80 lb. Trust trolling motor and it is functioning as expected.
