We tried a few other kids watches and prefer the Gabb Watch. Gabb seems to strike the best balance between making technology fun for the kids without making it addictive or dangerous. The watch is really durable. My son fell on his skateboard and the watch skid along the sidewalk. It still works perfectly and we were able to replace the screen cover quickly because they come in packs of 2. It’s easy to communicate with my kids and the parental controls like focus mode are so great!! I love seeing my kids connecting with family members, even if they sometimes send them messages with a million emojis. 🤭 My favorite features: • Focus modes to keep him from being distracted during school, sleep, church, etc. • The emergency feature where he can still call me in focus mode. • The coins he can earn (serious motivation for him to do chores without complaining!) • The Safe Zones - I set up his school and home as safe zones and I get an alerts if he leaves the area. • The battery lasts the whole day and I get a notification if his watch needs to be charged. • It also has a feature that makes a loud noise so we can find it if.. when it’s lost. Because, well, kids. 🤷♀️ My kids’ favorite features: • The fun animated animals and games he can play with by earning coins (but there are time limits so the games aren’t addicting) • The freedom he has to run around the neighborhood • The fact that he can call us for a ride when practice ends early. • The customizable alarm function so he can remind himself when to get ready for soccer practice, etc. It’s the whole package when it comes to a kids watch! So far so good. Pretty easy setup for my 8y/o and he is nonstop using it. Have recevied several calls and the quality is great. Loving the independence and I can keep in touch w him too WITHOUT SOCIAL MEDIA so that's a win win! I am not too tech savvy so the easy setup part was key. Had to restart it a couple times but otherwise smooth sailing. As I said, just getting it going today he has it at school so we'll see how the downtime function works. He is thrilled to be able to chat and I programmed it with some approved contacts so is busy reaching out to loved ones. Thanks GABB!! ... show more

The Gabb watch is the perfect introduction to a smart watch for my 9 year old. It has basic features to include background wallpaper, ring tone selection, steps tracker, timer, alarm clock, calculator, 1 game and a few other features that allow for customization. The calls come through very clearly and it sounds like a regular phone. Texting is easy too or sending a voice text works faster for my child. You can make presets for texts like “I’m on my way” or “Can you pick me up?” Texting anything longer may be difficult because the keyboard is A-Z and not a qwerty keyboard due to the size of the screen. Also it seems like it takes more pressure on the screen to make a selection vs the touch screen of an iPhone for example. GPS location is pretty accurate. If we are in the same vicinity, it will precisely locate where my child is in relation to where I am. Sometimes there is a lag so it may take a few minutes to update. As far as durability, we bought a screen protector which is all scratched up already, but the watch is in tact. The battery life is not great, but I reached out to customer support and they gave me several ways to conserve battery which has helped a lot. The customer service is also great with follow up and responsiveness. They don’t work weekends, so we had to figure it out ourselves when we lost cell service. We ultimately had to factory reset the watch which was unfortunate because you have to add back all your contacts. Ultimately, we have really liked having the watch. It’s restrictive enough so I have peace of mind that my child isn’t using the internet, but it also provides autonomy and a sense of responsibility. I would definitely recommend getting the Gabb watch if you are looking to introduce your child to a smart watch. ... show more

I don't often write reviews but I am very pleased with this company as a whole. I got the watch as a Christmas gift but a few days after I gave it to my daughter the screen stopped working. I contacted support and let them know I tried their recommend troubleshooting but still was not able to get it to work. They sent me a replacement watch the next day and my daughter has been pleased ever since. It was very easy to set up and the functionality is user friendly. My daughter is 8 and petite. The band is a soft silicone and isn’t too large for her wrist. I love the instant notifications and knowing when the device has been turned off.
