I purchased this mattress to replace one that we had for over 12 years that was worn out. I was sceptical at first buying a "bed-in-a-box" but this mattress far exceeded my expectations! It came rolled up tightly inside of a thick plastic wrap within the shipping box. We unrolled it when it arrived and allowed it to "grow" for 24 hours before sleeping in it. It fluffed up really quickly upon getting the plastic off of it but we decided to let it continue the fluffing process before trying it out. Once we got it on our bed frame we tried it out. As soon as I laid down on it, I felt like I was laying on a cloud! It was soft, but not too soft. It was firm, but not too firm. I have to say that this mattress is one of the best and most comfortable mattresses I've ever owned! It was well worth the amount we paid for it and I would definitely purchase it again if I needed a second one! I highly recommend this mattress...especially if you want the best night's sleep you've ever had! ... show more

This mattress arrived vacuum packed, so be careful when you tear off the plastic. It will pop open. There is no smell, but I let it air out for a couple days before I put bedding on it, just to make sure it was fully expanded. This mattress is surprisingly comfortable and perfect for my guest room.

First off, while the title says Memory Foam Mattress/Hybrid Mattress, this is really just a standard spring mattress with a built in memory foam topper. When you lay down on it, it feels like a spring mattress (kind of bouncy)...it doesn't have that same kind of dense feel that you get when you lay down on a memory foam mattress. Now...I was expecting that so I wasn't disappointed but I think it's important to know that up front. It arrived at our house vacuum packed and rolled up in a box. Once we'd unrolled it and cut the plastic, it expanded pretty quickly. We let it sit for a couple hours to make sure the whole thing was fully back to normal before putting it in place. The top of the mattress has kind of a stitched star pattern which is fairly deep...like it goes all the way through the foam layer. The fabric on the top is very soft...almost (but not quite) like a microfiber. It's a perfectly nice mattress. Comfortable as long as you remember that it's a spring mattress. The one downside is that the memory foam layer is fairly thin...maybe an inch? That made me a little nervous as I'm sure that will cause this mattress to have a shorter life span that I might hope for. Memory foam tends to kind of degrade over time and develop squished spots. And because that top layer is built in, this is not the kind of mattress that can be flipped over. For the price, this is a great buy and I don't think I'd hesitate to order again if I needed another mattress. ... show more

There's 8in and 10in mattresses that are more expensive than this 12 inch! It's very very good quality! Pretty heavy in the box when delivered. But it's totally worth it!!!! It went to size so fast! Great mattress for the price but after only 3 weeks of having it there is and area that is starting to lift where I sleep almost like an air pocket.
