GORGEOUS If you are a Frye fan and like a rugged, distressed bag and don't need a lot of compartments, you will like this bag. I lusted over this bag in Ice for years after spotting a lady carrying one through the airport. I have several pairs of Frye boots, but for some reason I couldn't bring myself to pay the cost on this bag. Finally did it a few months ago. I. Love. It. The color is gorgeous, and it's getting 'beaten up' nicely. There are no pockets other than the ones on the wall of the satchel, they are fairy flat and small slide-in style with one larger zip pocket. I don't carry a lot of small, loose stuff in my bag, so it works. If you're someone who does, or wants things very organized, you'll probably hate it. The quality is, of course, excellent. Thick, heavy, beautiful leather that feels and smells amazing. Good gusseting, so that the bag retains its shape when you set it down. Roomy interior, well made adjustable and removable strap. Handles will fall flat to the purse if using the strap. This bag will last for a decade or more if you take care of it, and it'll look great doing it. All....I don't typically write reviews even though I read them quit frequently to make decisions on products. I have had this bag on my wish list for about a year and every time I would go to order the price would prevent me from moving forward, let's face it...this is a lot to spend on a bag. Well I finally pulled the trigger....and boy was it worth it!! I wish I had gotten it sooner. The color is beautiful (not to dark not to light), I got the dark brown and I LOVE it. So well made, so classic... good for work or casual. Also, my laptop for work fits so I only have to carry ONE bag which is great. Mine also did not come with the Frye logo hanging on the handle but I don't really care about that as I usually remove them (they irritate me) Great shoulder strap for cross body use and just an overall amazing bag, good feeling in the hand, high quality, beautiful leather. I'm in love with this bag. I saw it at a department store and decided I had to have it - and I am NOT a "purse person". I have never spent this much for a bag (and still can't believe I did), but would do it again. I love the look and feel of the leather - it appears "rugged" for the lack of a better word - it's not dainty. For me, the size is perfect - large enough to hold my wallet, makeup bag, glasses, keys, phone, etc. and not too deep causing everything to get lost and jumbled in the bottom. The handles aren't large enough to wear this bag on your shoulder (use the removable shoulder strap if that's what you're looking for) which is just another reason I really like it because when carrying, it doesn't hang too low like it's going to drag on the ground. My only concern is its weight - the bag is heavy because of the fabulous leather. I'm now a Frye Fan! ... show more

Debated on this bag because it seemed large but it's going to be perfect (haven't filled it up yet). The packing of this bag was superb -- have never received a bag wrapped and filled so well. I checked the zippers, straps, inside and out. It's a beautiful COGNAC color and I can't wait to start using it. Not my first FRYE bag -- love them all! ... show more

Sturdy and well- sown but very stiff. Of course this is meant to last and will soften down with time and use but for now it feels boxy under my arm and I don't use it as much as I thought I would.

This handbag was a complete disappointment. It does not look like the picture. The color is not the same as shown. I have looked at this purse several times and hesitated to purchase it , finally did and what a letdown. I am returning it.

If you want a product that wears like iron and will last you a lifetime, buy a Frye. I purchased this bag in Cognac last year just before Christmas at a great sale price. The first one came without a strap so I had to send it back and re-order. It might be somewhat heavy to some but it's high quality leather. This bag will be your Holy grail handbag. I would take this bag over any expensive high end over priced bag any day. It has a rugged, organic look to it. I love it! I took it to my local shoe repair shop when I first got it and he gave me a product to put on it. It's a acrylic refinisher. Almost like a glaze and it protects the leather and gives it a very light subtle shine and helps protect against scratches which this bag is prone to get. Always protect your leather ladies!! I also have the Frye knee high harness boots in dark brown and I'm thinking of purchasing the Melissa riding boots in Cognac. ... show more
