Installation took barely two minutes and everything was very straightforward. The material of this cup holder is very sturdy, and it bends just enough to allow the cups to slide in and out easily. This is important when trying to get the bottles in and out while riding! We didn't need to use the extra piece as our bike already had the cup holder pre-drilled with screws included. What I love the most about this cup holder has to be the adjustability. Who knew that such a simple solution like this could be so useful? Some of our bottles are on the bigger side, and it's nice to be able to fit different-sized bottles easily. On the smallest setting, the end of the adjusting screw would hit against the frame, so that is something to keep in mind. Our bottles are bigger so with the screws extended, none of it is hitting the frame. Overall the cup holder is also very light, and it added barely any weight to our commuter bike. If you have a higher-end road/race bike I would rethink this cup holder as it wouldn't count as the "lightest" out there. But for your everyday bike, this is perfect! ... show more

I could see this cup holder bracket being used in a multitude of places, a boat, a kayak, a car, a four wheeler, a bicycle, a motorcycle, a scooter, the list goes on. What is important to know about this unit is knowing what application you envision using it for, and then checking the specs will fit your intended application. For me it was a Jon boat, and for fishing. It was my goal to be able to have a clamp on cupholder for a Jon boat at different lakes that I fish at with my fishing club. Not all Jon boats are the same at every lake, some are different gauge steel, some have wood bases for trolling motors, some are heavier and some are lighter. This cup holder adjusts to fit them all. The clamp is metal as well, so the grip strength is nice and fairly strong. Onto specifically the cup holder component itself, I do wish the cup holder was more adjustable and better built, and that there was a way to more securely hold a bottle, can, yeti, etc. Though the entire unit itself locks on strongly to the Jon boat, the drink containers are always as secure as I would like. To make this unit even better it would be great to see the adjustments make their way to the size of the cupholder itself as well. All told, compared to not having any cupholders in my Jon boats, to then having this, it's been a blessing and I highly recommend it. Double check the dimensions of your application and make sure the mount will work properly, and it it does, buy without question. Great product! ... show more

We have a bike at our house that is an old, steel 10 speed. It gets used a lot but doesn’t have an easy way to carry a water bottle cage. This is the perfect solution. It attaches nice and tight, doesn’t move when used, and has reliably held the bottles I’ve put in it. Being adjustable for different size/type water bottles/coffee cups is a nice bonus! Bought this cup holder for my beach cruiser. It was a snap to install. Took about 5 minutes. Initially I was afraid the holder didn’t have enough spring to hold a hard cup but once the screw is loosened the opening becomes more variable for different cup widths. Holds the cup strong enough that the coffee didnt spill. Looks nice on my bike and is a good quality. Very happy with this item and would buy again for my other bikes. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I needed a bottle holder with some specific needs. I bike with a small child and when he is feeling grumpy, every minute or two minutes, he will ask for his water bottle. I could have put a water bottle on his bike but that is not practical at the moment because (1) His 20" bike is not really built to accommodate a water bottle on the frame. (2) The child sometimes bikes super slow or does tricks and falls from the bike. His bottle would roll off on the trail when he falls. The trail has ponds and such on the side and a rolled bottle may get very difficult to retrieve back (3) I did not want to use a plastic bottle for my child, so it had to accommodate his straight wall bottle. Most of the bike bottle mounts have a bit of bent plastic to firmly grab onto the bottle. Such a bent plastic would scratch his metal bottle's surface. This bottle holder checks all the boxes. Its made of very sturdy plastic with metal backbone. The knob at the bottom of the holder allows a thick flat aluminum bar to extend/retract allowing the bottle to change the diameter to accommodate different size bottles. The clamp is almost 1" thick and grabs onto the handle super sturdy. One piece of caution here. They have provided a wrench to tighten the clamp. You have to insert the wrench into the knob indentations and tighten it. You CANNOT properly tighten/untighten the clamp without using the knob. This is an anti-theft feature. Although theft is not a huge concern for me given my use case (bike always in eyesight, or trail) This gesture is appreciated though. It does however mean that you better stow the wrench carefully or it is going to be a lot of jury-rigging when time comes to take this clamp off.
