I had some seriously painful cracked nipples. I tried lanolin until the lactation consultant told me lanolin was more preventative and wasn't very helpful to get rid of cracks. Per her recommendation I tried gel pads for a week, which not only didn't help but were annoying because I had to clean off before each feeding. I got this set because it was recommended by a friend. As part of a routine that also included changing up nursing positions to decrease pull on cracked areas, using breastmilk on nipples, and using nursing pads as a a sort of bandaid, this set helped much more than lanolin and gel pads ever did. I do like the balm but the real hero of this set is the saline for me. Using this set helped me feel so much better in just a couple days that I'm confident I'll be able to continue breastfeeding. This is the best stuff I have found. Any mom that is Breastfeed knows your nipples will get sore. I'm feed 2 girls right now. A 2 yr old and a 2 month old and the first month my nipples got so sore and hurt so bad to feed. But this helps so much and wasting gross to put on.
