    • It's fine for what it costs
I don't use the trolling motor often, it's more of an emergency back up or real shallow water runner for me. This one pushes my boat (14ft V hull with wood floor) pretty well. It's not the end all of trolling motors, in fact mine came wired backwards (5 reverse speed and 3 forwards), but that was easy enough to resolve. I did have an issue with the mounting bracket and U-BCOO sent a new one without question so I can't complain about that. Just keep in mind this unit is over $100.00 less than a comparable Minn Kota so don't expect quite the same quality, but for what it is, it's fine. ... show more

Using the unit is fairly easy. The attachment mechanism is strong. With the two bolts on attachment pieces the U-BC00 fits on most aluminum boats. And kayaks if you have an attachment plate. The swivel action allows the user full directional control even at high thrust. Setting the height is easy and can allow 180 degree control. Thrust in a 12 foot aluminum boat, thrust on speed control is fluid. The handle fits the hand and gives a sure grip. When accelerating the 60Lbs is great. 60lb thrust can be achieved with a simple turn of the wrist. Each click of the handle is the next speed. This is my 2nd motor of this brand in 4 weeks! Had to return the 1st because the "mounting bracket" cracked all the way thru the housing: only used 1 time for period of about 4 hrs. Recevied a replacement a few days ago; used it this morning, again, for a period of about 4 hrs. The motor vibrates terribly and you can not tighten the mounting bracket screws enough to keep the motor from vibrating. After using the motor this morning, I removed it from the boat ( 10 ft, plastic mold, Pond Prowler ) and agin saw at least 2 more cracks in the bracket housing. I have used a Minn Kota brand for several years and never had such a problem (the M K needed to be replaced due to motor issues not under warranty) So, I decided to try a different brand and choice this unit because of cost; thought it would be good enough....It Is Junk ! I now have to return the 2nd motor and get a refund. I will not order anything of this brand, again. ... show more

    • speed control does not work
I took out for the first time at first the controls operated as designated. After running for about 20 minutes I tried to slow down no change in speed I then tried to turn off it would not respond I had to disconnect before I ran into the dock. So now very frustrated now that I have to deal with this brand new motor. ... show more

Easy to install, a nice simple clamp. Easy to set up, just two wires, and easy to use. Get away from the noisy smelly gas motor, and try this clean green electric machine, you will not be disappointed.

    • Not as much power and then it broke
I noticed that it was not as powerful as my last moter with the same thrust. Then after a few weeks of use, something in inside stripped. Now I only have on and off at full speed. Would not recommend
