Took this scale with me to Africa, after using it at home as a "pre-flight luggage check scale," it was VERY accurate, durable, measures in pounds and kilograms, which helpful cuz my metric conversion skills are not so good!!! I tested it on other users, for easy use, sturdiness, and locating changing to the different conversion types! Easy person did find it VERY easy to use, even petite women having to fit 50 pound luggage. I had one of these scales before. So, I was willing to return to purchase again! The battery is included, and the strap is knitted nylon with a hooked clasp that fits into the little triangle area shown. There is neongreen back-lighting, great for when power goes out! This is a great little scale and I was very pleased how easy it is to use. I like that it is digital. I used it not only for luggage, but also for weighing shipping packages that were too heavy for my kitchen scale. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I was only able to use it once before the battery died (it comes with a protector between battery and contacts, so it is fresh when you remove the plastic protector).
