This is my first attempt at an e bike. I wanted good range so I went with the Alaska for the dual batteries. I also added the rack package to it that was well worth it. This bike is FAST. I’m continually blown away by how fast it can go. On a flat road I hit nearly 40 MPH in pedal assist. Realistically you can’t pedal fast enough at that speed so you just have to spin the crank. I back it down to 2 or 3 PAS so I can contribute some pedaling myself to help the batteries last longer and exercise. Speaking of the batteries! I have about 25 miles on the bike and the batteries are still showing 5 bars.I have a short commute to work and it’s been a week now and it looks like I have a long way to go before I need to charge. I like to mtn bike off road and intend to put this through it’s paces in the woods (why I wanted long battery life). The full suspension if comfy and should hold up well in technical riding. The rack package was well worth it for the extra money. Because I commute with the bike I now have the storage to hit the market on the way home. The rack package is a lot of goodies for the money. THE BIKE IS HEAVY. It weighs close to 100lbs. Not hard to lean over to throw a leg over it, but it would be difficult to lift into the back of a pickup. I’m 5’8” and 160lbs and am not intimidated by the bikes weight at all. Some may however. Finally, as mentioned before, the service is top notch! Horland kept me up to date and answered questions quickly. I wish every company I dealt with put this much focus on customer service! I love the bike. More than I expected for an ebike. It's a great bike. I did a lot of research before I found this one. I like that it has both batteries built in. I found it pretty easy to put together. Not much needed to be done. It is a awesome looking bike. It has plenty of power and a long range of travel.It handles great on the country dirt roads that I live on. The seat that it came with was a good quality seat but I'm 64 yrs old and needed a big but seat. Looking forward to taking it on my camping trip. ... show more

We bought 2 of these bikes. The bikes are great. When ridding the bike the power band is pretty good. The pedal assist is even better, the pull is quite impressive. The battery setup allows us to get way up into the mountains and has always got us back home.

I would give this a 4 or even 5 if not for my delivery experience.... 1. Fedex absolutely requires someone to sign for the delivery. luckily i was able to organize delivery with my amazing neighbors, i did not know this BEFORE ordering. 2. Dont expect a correct delivery estimate date until fedex has tried and failed to deliver at least once. its a bit like waiting 8-5 for the cable guy, but in this case its over days, like say June 1st - June 10th estimated delivery date 3. The little gift package they offer, dont expect to get it, I never got mine, but the bike is enjoyable enough. 4. I ordered a color that was in stock at the time of order, it should have been mine, they contacted me and informed me it wasnt in stock so i had to settle for good ole boring black. Overall i greatly enjoy the bike, it's very responsive and comfortable. It's been a few decades since i even road e a bike but this has been a pleasant reintroduction. I would consider buying another for my wife when the time comes, at least i know what to expect from this company. ... show more

It was well packaged with easy to follow instructions. It is heavy well over 70 lbs. I put it together in a bit less than two hours. For most people who aren’t mechanical or don’t have the right tools I would recommend the take it to a bicycle shop. It needs to be done properly. I weigh around 175 lbs. and with only the motor it will go over 30 mph. A helmet is a must and required in California. I also wear a fluorescent sweatshirt or safety vest. Be sure to ride with traffic and use your mirrors and signal if you’re turning. The bike cannot be used by anyone under 18 years old. Check the regulations where you plan to use it. It might not be legal where you live. I would recommend it to anyone. ... show more
