Excellent boots, and a great company to deal with! I purchased these boots largely based on the advertised features(waterproof, breathable, and lightweight), as well as the many positive customer reviews of the product. When the first pair of boots arrived, they had a manufacturing defect where the left heel squeaked when I walked. At that time, both listed methods of reaching out to the seller(webpage & phone number) where inactive, so I contacted the company directly through the Amazon page. Free Soldier was quick to reply and offered what I felt was a unique and generous offer to credit me $20 for the defect. Although the offer was tempting, I needed these boots to be silent for work so I went for a replacement pair. The replacement pair of boots arrived in good time, but with another manufacturing defect- the sole on one of the boots was separating from the body of the shoe. Based on the many, many positive reviews of these boots, and also having tried the two pairs already, I had a good gut feeling that I must have unfortunately just been sent two pairs back to back with manufacturing defects. I told the company that I'd prefer to have them replaced than just returned for a refund. New Soldier sent me a replacement pair at no cost! The replacement pair arrived in a timely fashion, and they fit perfectly! And, after weeks of almost daily wear, they are performing great and as advertised- lightweight, waterproof, and breathable, and very comfortable to wear as an all day shoe. It's also worth noting that even though I had to send the first pair of boots back, before they were even replaced, I went ahead and ordered two pairs of pants from the New Soldier line, because I had a good feeling about the company's products. Both pairs of pants are a great fit, and very comfortable as well, waterproof, and breathable. One pair is regular weight and the other is fleece lined for the colder weather.     • Great Boots but haven't been able to stand up to my work and survive a full year of labor.

Boots were comfortable as soon as I put them on out of the box, they've laced up nicely and have been a great set of boots till recently. After about half a year of wearing them for work every day the stitching holding the sole on has started to go, and the inside has started to tear from walking around in them. I will more than likely buy these boots again but will definitely be searching for a reasonably priced pair of boots that can survive the work year. All in all, I do recommend these. ... show more

To start, this is not paid or anything. I'm just some dude that bought these for utility work 60 hours a week. I originally purchased these Oct 22, 2022 and have used them as my only boots day in and day out. They have been comfortable since day. I purasched my true to size and they fit well new, but broke in pretty quick allowing just enough wiggle room. I'm honestly extremely impressed with the quality and durability which is the only reason I'm writing this review. I walk an average of 5-8 miles a day in residential, rural, and all other kinds of terrain in all weather types. These photos are after 8 months. There is some slight wear on the inside, but nothing crazy. The soles actually have held up very well. There is some balding areas in the main strike areas and small tears on the heals from 1000s of miles of driving. No water has leaked through in those areas. The sides are definitely the weakest point, but definitely not weak. They have also held up very well. They do have some small tears and rips they eventually made their way over weeks, maybe a couple of months, all the way through. Which definitely does suck when it rains. But, the weatherproof really works. So after 8 months of legit raw everyday use, I was so impressed that I bought another pair in brown this time. I'm keep the old ones for back ups and to alternate some use with the new ones. For the price, I can't find anything to complain about. Hopefully this helps. ... show more
