This bookshelf was exactly what I expected. It’s your standard particleboard shelf like the kind you would get at IKEA or Walmart. There were no big issues. Everything went together, really smoothly and easily. The thing fits perfectly in the corner of my closet which is an odd skinny space. It gave me a lot more room in the closet. I can store two pairs of shoes in each shelf if I want one pair to basically be resting on the other. Otherwise only one pair goes in at a time and the very tip of the toebox hangs out a little bit. Can also store things like sweaters And some purses but again, the shelf is not very deep and some things hang out a little in the front. This shelf is solid and looks more polished than cheaper versions of this style. It was easy to assemble but there were missing pre-drilled holes for the unique screws that interlock with the top half of the shelf (shelf #3). I was able to remedy this but it required extra tools and time to get the hole placement to align with the top half. ... show more

This is truly great for narrow spaces. Much better than stacking up books vertically on floor. We used very small amount elmer's school kid glue rubbed on with qtips, inside the dowel holes before attaching. Ended up with a completely sturdy bookcase. Loved it enough that we ordered a second bookcase. (After finding another narrow spot up a wall for books between other furniture. ) ... show more

My daughter needed something small for her college program apartment. This fit that need perfectly. It's great quality especially for the price and was easy to put together. Thirty minutes tops to assemble. Also we were able to personalize shelf heights to some extent.

Well designed. Comes with long screws and stronger twist lock cams - which makes it sturdy. Screw and dowels for top, middle, and bottom shelves. Assembles in 2 sections - top and bottom, connected with cam screws. It was such a good product, I bought another!

Overpriced for what it is. The finish is not great. It was packaged pretty well. Fairly easy to assemble. Finishing screws on the back we’re annoying. Not in love with it, but it works in the space where I need it. The stickers look stupid and don’t match the paint, but it was that or the bare screws. There is some gapping. The shelves only have preset placements so unlike many bookshelves, you are very limited in what you can do. There are several inch gaps between main anchor shelves and where the additional adjustable ones can go. If you have a few more inches, I’d just get the smaller Billy bookcase. I didn’t quite have enough room for the smaller one next to my big one. I wish I did, but I’m about 3 inches short on room. Not worth the hassle of returning when this will work how I need it to for now. Could be so much better though & kind of a letdown. ... show more

    • Better than most flatpack furniture

I've put together a ton of flatpack furniture in my life, especially over the past few years, and this was a great experience compared to many/most. The pieces are well labeled, the instructions are clear, and it comes with extra hardware. Obviously it's a faux wood veneer so it's not going to be your fanciest furniture, but I bought it for a tight corner in a closet and it looks fine in there. I especially liked the little stabilization pieces that go on the back and keep it from swaying. I've never seen those before. Assembly took 45 minutes to an hour. All the holes were well drilled and the hardware went in great. I'm pretty impressed and the size is great for what I need. I need more shelves for a kids' room and I was going to try one of the really expensive places but I'm going to see what else this brand makes before I spend thousands of dollars. ... show more
