  • This is the one !!!
I have bought numerous small desk type amps and enjoyed most of them. All of which had low power but I settled for it. Most of these small amps usually show their power ratings at 4 ohms. My history of buying speakers seem to be always 8 ohms. I wanted to save some desk space so I bought 2 of the single Cambridge Audio Minx speakers with their silver stands as well as a Kanto 6 inch powered subwoofer. Hence, I wanted more power in my purchase of an amp as these cube speaker are not very efficient as they like power even for their size. So, I purchased this amp along with the 48w 5amp power adapter and wow does this system sound great. The amp is solid and the Bluetooth is a breeze to connect to. Fosi has a winner with this amp for sure so if you buy one you won't regret it. ... show more

  • Shockingly impressed
I'm in the initial stages of piecing together a system and bought this as a temp solution until I can save up for the real gear I want. I have a pair of Wharefdale Linton 85th Anniversary speakers that are being ran by this little amp. Maybe it's just because I went into this with very low expectations, but wow, I was very surprised as to how well it sounds. Build quality seems top notch. You can swap the op amps, which I'm considering doing just because I can. I'd like to hear the differences. I also have the 48V power supply coming, so this review is based on the 36V power supply it comes with. Given the cost of this amp, I think it sounds outstanding. I can't imaging anything in this price range sounding this good. It's truly impressive. There's no remote control for the volume, which might be an issue to some. I'm using bluetooth from my phone, so I just control the volume on my phone and that works just fine. I don't often write reviews, but I felt this little guy deserved one. It almost makes me question why I'm planning to spend so much on amplifiers. lol. If you're on the fence, don't be. This thing is great. I could almost see myself being happy with this long-term. Almost. It's just not quite playing in the same playground as where I'm taking this system. However, I'm pretty sure I'm going to use this maybe in a bedroom system or garage system now that I have it. This is NOT a throw away amplifier as I went into it expecting it to be. ... show more

  • Nice little amp
I purchased this amp to run a 2.1 system in my garage. What attracted me to the unit was the small form factor, built in Bluetooth, bass and treble controls and the active 3.5mm output for a sub. I connected the amp to a pair of Sony SSCS5 speakers and an older 10" sub I had to the 3.5mm port. Connecting my Android phone was quick. My phone saw the amp right away. It would be nice if a password was required to ensure no one else could connect to the unit. The sound quality was nice and the unit had more than enough power to run the Sony speakers to the levels I needed for listening in my garage. Bass and treble adjustments sound nice, not digitally enhanced. After an hour of listening the unit got a little warm, but not hot. My only gripe, and the reason I removed 1 star, is that the hashmark on one of the knobs is misaligned (see pic). Seems like the quality control isn't quite there, but overall I would recommend this unit. ... show more

  • Best Fosi Audio for a pair of Stereo Speakers! Not all TPA3255 are the same!
I recently purchased both this and the BT30D Pro and ended up sticking with this unit as I definitely can hear the differences between the two. My main listening comparison was on a Triangle Borea Br03 pair of bookshelf speakers being fed either through Bluetooth and on my PC via Soundblaster Zx soundcard as my DAC. Music source was via Tidal "Master" quality audio tracks (FLAC) My main experience came from a Denon AVR-X6500h powering a Klipsch RP-8000F in my Home Theatre and trying this out gave me a pretty impressive feel for what $80 could do although my Denon ($2000+ MSRP) undoubtedly significantly sounded better with its class AB amplifier vs class D on the BT30D Pro. Combinations Tested (ranked from best sounding to least): Denon X6500h -> Triangle Borea Br03 Soundblaster Zx -> BT20A Pro -> Triangle Borea Br03 Denon X6500h -> Klipsch RP-8000F (Bi-Amped) + 2x SPL-120 Soundblaster Zx -> BT30D Pro -> Triangle Borea Br03 Bluetooth -> BT30D Pro -> Triangle Borea Br03 Bluetooth -> BT30D Pro -> Klipsch RP-8000F I set both units to Tone Controls at flat (12 o'clock) and volume at (3 o'clock or 75%), gave it the best sound. Comparing the BT30D Pro to the BT20A Pro, the BT20A was less boomy, and more clear sounding giving me a feeling closer to my Denon AVR (about halfway better). The difference could be best described as better low end bass response and more "warm". Despite both units utilizing a TI TPA3255, the BT20A also has replaceable Op-Amps (NE5532) which may be a differentiator. The BT30D Pro can push 2x175w into 4 ohms with a THD of 0.04%, while the BT20A can do up to 300Wx2 into 4 ohms with a THD of 0.005%. The BT30D pro definitely sounds like an excellent value but it felt it definitely gave up some sound quality compared to the BT20A so if you don't need the passive subwoofer output I'd stick with the 20A which has a pre-out for an active subwoofer as well. I'm glad I went this setup over a Klipsch Fives, Sevens, or Nines although I haven't heard those speakers but if they're like my RP-8000F the Triangle's definitely sound better for music. Other key improvements on the BT20A Pro over the BT30D Pro include: - Tone knobs have an indent for a "flat response" - Volume knob can be used to reset "bluetooth pairings" - Upgradeable Op-Amps In addition the points brought up above: - Better sound over BT30D Pro (more power, less harmonic distortion) - Flatter response This is now really making me think again about switching my setup to a Marantz Cinema 70s / NR1711 since this Fosi is much closer to my Denon in terms of performance. ... show more
