  • does not burn the wood
This blade leaves a smooth edge with very small scratches occasionally but sands out easily a whole lot easier than if the wood is burned. Great glue line rip blade however is rough on crosscut plywood. I had a new Forrest 40 tooth general purpose blade but it burned the wood not impressed with this blade but very impressed with the 20 tooth blade. i think the 40 tooth blade was not sharpened correctly at the factory it also has a bad pitch build up problem. ... show more

  • Rough sawn
It does what it's designed to: Rough saw thick hardwoods like butter. But the finish looks like you just brought it home from the lumberyard. My 40 tooth WWII does they job up to 2" without having to run it through the jointer. So as long as you understand that expectation, it's a fine blade that will probably outlast me. ... show more

  • Great product
I have used Forrest blades for a while now, but this was my first Rip Blade from them. Like all the other Forrest blades it is amazing. I used to by other big name blades that were cheaper, but the difference in quality of cut makes the price difference a moot point. I highly recommend this and other Forrest blades. ... show more

  • Smooth rips in thick stock
Ripping thick hardwood stock needed a blade which was designed for this task. This one is just that. A tad on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. I have several Forest blades which I have used for years and they are the best.

  • I never had a rip blade before. But I ...
I never had a rip blade before. But I have had other Forrest blades because they are top of the line in quality and performance. So I expected the same from this rip blade. It handled 2 inch thick oak with no problem. The only complaint I have is that the edge left by the blade leaves small saw marks that you need to remove by sanding or the jointer. So I always cut the piece just a little wide so I can clean it up later. I ordered the standard kerf blade, but was sent the thin-kerf blade instead. Not sure if that makes much difference so I decided not to go through the hassle of returning the blade. ... show more

  • As described
This blade performed as described. As for value, there may be others on the market for much less.

  • Makes a cool sound!
Buy it just for the sound it makes lol. Kidding. It's a fantastic blade! Rips it better than grandma after turkey dinner

  • Great blade
This saw blade is simply the best. It's not the cheapest one on the market, but hands down the best bang for your buck over the long term. it is sharp and accurate and true. I needed another blade as I had given my spare to a friend. Forrest also does a great job of re-sharpening them when the get dull. ... show more
