  • COOLANT TEMPATURE SENSOR 1995 Ford 5.0L
My 1995 5.0 fuel injected V8 powering my F-150 was failing to start up and run without stalling and "sputtering" after it was warmed up. It would start right up and idle/run great cold, but when you turned it off after it was hot, it wouldn't do so great if you could even get it to start. Think I finally tracked it down to being this sensor. I believe it is similar in function to a choke on a naturally aspirated engine. Without the sensor working properly, the CPU would think the engine was cold and provide inappropriate fuel delivery to the already warm/hot engine. The sensor was easy to replace with little coolant loss and now the engine runs great (so far). As a note, the old sensor seemed to be the exact one as this one, so it had probably failed before. The check engine light would flicker on and off but no code was produced to troubleshoot this particular sensor. Good price point and quick delivery. Gave it a four for value due to some reviews saying it failed after a short time. We'll see. So far, I would buy it again but I hope not to for a long time. ... show more

  • Good Value
When I tried to install the part it would not start to turn in. I had a closer look and found that the start of the threads were not cut all the way. I chased it with a file and was able to start and turn in the part. When installed the temp. gauge was working.

  • Fixed a 94 bronco non start when hot.
Have a 94 bronco 5.0 that would start no problem when cold. Once it’s heated up it would just turn over and not fire. Let it sit and cool. Then it would start again. Replaced this sensor and all is fine now. Drive it all over and no fear of it not starting on the next stop.

  • Important part in helping control rough idle on my 5.0 ford engine
Been replacing lots of parts on my 92 f150 with 245,000 + miles, as most were still the original parts. This is a part that plays a part in the idling. Engine is running very well now.

  • We'll see how long it lasts
Gauge wasn't reading a temp, so this part is most often the culprit. Installed and gauge still didn't work. Figured my thermostat had probably failed then. Upon starting that repair, I removed this sensor and discovered one of the terminals had pushed inside the unit when I connected the plug. Got a replacement and worked fine, but in the meantime, this whole sequence let to a water pump, thermostat, and timing chain cover gasket replacement. Everything is tight and dry now, but man that was a lot of work. ... show more
