  • Worked like a charm
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Gourdes did really good with the crackle.

  • It worked well
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I used it to creat a peeling/flaking/cracking affect on my acrylic art painting. It did the job. After applied, it just looks shiny on the canvas. Be sure to let it dry for at least 24 hours. Once it is dry and acrylic paint is applied, it starts to crackle. It does not crackle before applying the paint. ... show more

  • It's great and fun!
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
The media could not be loaded. I LOVE this stuff! I make creepy dolls from old dolls, and it's extremely satisfying to watch the crackle magic happen! The last one is a Luvabella doll turned creepy...or should I say creepier!? (Excuse the loud guy in the background! I think he's talking in this video clip.) ... show more

  • Great but not foolproof
Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This crackle medium is really great but I will say there’s a bit of a learning curve to get it right. I used it to create a Venetian mask and — like other reviews stated — you MUST use a matte paint for it work; I chose chalk paint. When applying your top coat, you can’t go over a given area with more than one brush stroke — otherwise, you’ll smear the crackle. You have to quickly paint the area with a generous amount of paint and move on to the next area. To help with this, I decided to to do each part of the mask in small sections, which made things easier. Don’t worry about seeing brushstrokes in the paint — the medium will minimize them once it starts to crackle. If you want bigger cracks, paint your top coat in larger strokes, and for smaller cracks, do small strokes. The direction you paint the top coat in matters, too, as the cracks will appear in the direction you paint. For these fine, horizontal cracks, I painted very small strokes in a horizontal direction. ... show more

  • Do you know how to use this product? (Here's some tips--but this isn't the best crackle glaze.)
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Most people don't know how to use this product--and it's because there are no instructions for successful use. Here's the scoop: Lay down a FLAT paint background, not satin, not acrylic, not glossy. Dry. Now paint the crackle glaze over it. Dry--but don't wait more than 4 hours. Now paint FLAT paint over it--again, not acrylic, not glossy. Do NOT continue brushing back & forth--do it once touch it up, leave it. Do NOT go over it again later. If you do, those spots will not crackle. Painting acrylic or semi glossy over the crackle glaze will fail. also, thin top coat = fine cracks, thick top coat = big cracks. This product--very thin for crackle glaze. Tried 2 coats, still no good. For real success buy the brands faux finishers use. Sherwin Williams also carries faux finishing products. You will be paying more. ... show more

  • Perfect crackle for paper mache mask
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I painted my mask with black acrylic paint, let it dry completely. I then painted over with the crackle paint. The direction you paint does change the crackle design. I let that dry for an hour and the painted over with a white chalk paint. The effect is really interesting.
