The unit comes folded, which is a nice feature - you can hang it up on a wall or in a closet. But it's a bit disconcerting to stand on since it really wants to fold up all the time. However, it does indeed work as advertised. I would have preferred a locking or a click-in kind of mechanism, especially since in my case, it will be in the usable position most of the time.
