  • Product you get depends upon which seller you buy from! Buyer beware!
I originally purchased a roll of this copper mesh several years ago (Sold by: Pest Mall) and it was wonderful, just as pictured on this listing. It worked great (used it with the foam sealant in the can with pest block) for stuffing into rodent holes and small openings around the house where rodents can enter. I was running out of the copper, so I came back to purchase another roll. I found my original order and clicked on the item to make sure I purchased the same product. Trying to save a few dollars, I purchased from the seller with the lowest price which was Solutions Pest & Lawn. I received the item sent and it definitely wasn't the same as what I purchased several years ago and didn't look like the photo shown on the product page. What I received was more of a screen type of material. If it is copper, it is very thin and lightweight, it is so thin you can easily tear it by hand, making me doubt it would do much to keep a rodent from chewing right through it. I am not happy at all with the poor quality and thinness of whatever this product is, and it is not what I purchased based on the listing. I wasn't sure if this item had completely changed or it was just the particular seller I purchased from, so I again went back to my original order and clicked on it, luckily that original seller is still an option, so I purchased this again from them. This order just arrived, it was exactly like the original thick roll of copper mesh (that you need to use shears or similar to cut) and cannot tear by hand. Very good, thick quality! So buyer beware of who you purchase this from, not all sellers are selling the same item for this listing. I am not saying it is intentional, but regardless, if you want the thick copper mesh as shown in the photo, purchase from Pest Mall (and no, I am not employed by or gaining anything by saying this). I am posting a photo to show the difference, the smaller roll on the left looking at the photo (it is new, I have not used any, this is the size when arrived) was purchased last week from the seller Solutions Pest & Lawn and the roll on the right was purchased this week from the seller Pest Mall. Update, I contacted Solutions Pest & Lawn to notify them of the issue, thinking they would be happy to know and to resolve the problem. In light of the inferior product that they are selling, I felt it was only right that they waive the 15% restocking fee (which is not even mentioned on their seller profile page). Their response, which confirms that they are aware that they are selling a poor quality product that does not match this listing, is as follows. "We provide the product description, but Amazon chooses the photos for representation of the products, not us. The product we ship is based off of the description we provide. The 15% restock fee applies to all returns." Funny thing, I was about to purchase a couple hundred dollars worth of other items from them that are in my cart, was just waiting until this was resolved, so for a few dollars they are stealing in their restocking fee, they are losing a huge sale...needless to say, I will NEVER purchase anything from them again. It is sad that there are sellers like this on Amazon, ruining it for everyone! ... show more

  • Didn't like the product and returned it
Didn't like the product and returned it. You cut a length you need, then roll it inside-out, so it turns into a ball of sorts, and plug it into the opening/hole. They don't lock into the hole since it is very light and thin, and rodents easily pull it out. Even after putting their Stuf-Fit foam-based sealant, it doesn't really help. The sealant is chewed through without any issue and it doesn't really repel the rodents. Note: Since most buyers check the product and buy and not the seller policies, I feel it is good to let buyers know regarding Fly Bye vendor return policy. If you return the the item within 30 days, then they charge 20% restocking fee plus the shipping charge they paid to ship it to you. And of course, you are paying shipping for the return back to them. That is their policy, nothing wrong with it - it is good to know that beforehand, so you are aware. ... show more

  • EXCELLENT PRODUCT
Make sure the seller is Fly-Bye in your Cart also as on Amazon listing, not Solutions Pest & Lawn. Last time I reordered 6 of this and I got fake roles of soft thin mesh like silk cloth (see photo) from Solutions Pest & Lawn, because the seller got changed in my Cart, came from their Return department that othet had returned it. Then, If you return it, they will charge 15% restocking. I will not use their product even if they Pay me for it. It is that useless. I need lot of these and I will buy Only from Fly-Bye. ... show more

  • Not the same copper packing mesh as it used to be - - thinner, and not as good for stuffing holes.
This is somewhat different than the copper mesh I have purchased before. It is a finer weave, and thinner - more like a thin window screen folded into a tube and rolled. It is not the same weave & thickness of copper mesh shown in the picture. It does not not pack as well as the types of copper roll mesh that I purchased before, and it tends to spring back into its original shape rather than packing like a steel wool or copper wool would. They may have changed supplier since they posted the original picture, but if your interest is in packing the material into holes to prevent mice or other small animals from entering, you may need a type of mesh that is better at packing, and staying packed in small spaces. ... show more

  • Works well to keep out rats. Here are some installation tips.
For a long time pest control experts have recommended wadding up steel wool to stuff into holes to keep out rodents. The problem is, steel wool rusts and degrades, sometimes in just a year or two. I've installed about half a roll of this stuff and all of it is still bright copper color. I've spent many hours sealing huge gaps around an old chimney foundation and beneath a porch in our home in the woods. This copper mesh has replaced spray foam for sealing gaps. I've seen several piles of foam chips that rats chewed up, but no piles of copper mesh fragments! I use it wadded up to fill holes and gaps in the basement. Because our opponents are rats, I cover most gaps with a layer of hardware cloth. This mesh helps fill all the odd shaped gaps and to seal the edges of hardware cloth between layers. I also jam it into framing gaps, then hammer it in deeper with a putty knife. The key is to wad it up tight and press it in hard. For some reason pests don't like to chew through this, but they may try to pull it out. Screw a hardware cloth shield over bigger gaps. ... show more

  • Imposter
This product is not stuf-fit. It is very tightly woven and not flattened copper that doesn't pack (springy).

  • Doesn't Correspond to the Image Sold Under
The mesh that I received (sold by the Solutions Pest and Lawn) doesn't correspond the image it is posted under. It is too fine and flexible to work with - consumption would be too great. Previously, I bought a such mesh that was courser and much more suitable for the purpose - fill gaps and holes, especially, larger than 1/2". ... show more
