Absolutely stunning! Designers dream at a happy client’s purchase price! These shelves are deeper and much sturdier than others that I have purchased. Plus, they’re straight (vs slightly twisted/warped), solid wood. The finish is even and smooth and the stain is a true walnut brown. However, it’s needs to be noted that the ends have a heavy wood grain. If your style isn’t rustic, the dark stain helps make it look more classic/elegant. Plus, if it’s mounted where you can’t see the ends…problem solved! The recommended max weight is likely more than I’ll ever be able to put on it (and from the looks of this design, I tried)! Would recommend for libraries, kitchens, bars, bathrooms (even above toilets), bedrooms…you name it, there’s a use for them! If you don’t like the colors offered, they even come ready-to-stain. Although, I don’t think the price for that product is appropriate given the amount of work and materials you’d need to put in. I’d go elsewhere for an unfinished product, unless they lowered the price. Overall, fantastic product and price!! I’ve bought several of these! ... show more

My husband and I decided to redo our living room.m and update our pellet stove area. These shelves work great as a make shift mantle love the color of the wood and how easy they were to install.

Okay so I ordered these because they had an overall high rating and a lot of reviews. After I had placed the order I began reading some of the reviews and got a little worried that I had made a mistake. Many of the one star reviews said the finish was poor, some of the shelves were warped and the hardware was no good. Since I had already placed the order all I could do was wait and see what I got. This review is based on what I received and you may have a different experience. I ordered the grey finish 24” shelves. Packaging was decent, no damage in shipping. The shelves had a nice matte finish with no chips or dents that other reviews noted. One of the shelves had a very slight twist but it was barely noticeable. Being real, solid wood I expected slight imperfections. If you want something perfectly straight I would suggest the fake wood options from ikea or Home Depot. The brackets seemed well made but were a bit thinner than I had expected from the description. The powder coat finish looked fine. The wall anchors were good quality metal self drilling anchors. I usually go buy these for most heavy items so I was surprised to see them included. The included template was accurate and worked fine to mark the wall for drilling. I would suggest always checking the template against the actual holes on the shelf before drilling your walls. Once I measured everything and had my holes marked it was a very simple process for anyone with basic home improvement skills. As for not needing a drill I can say it’s probably possible but a bad idea. It wouldn’t take much to mess up on the angle and not have a hole line up or end up out of level. I included a picture of all of the tools I used. The extra drill was just a convenience, you only need one. Some of the mounting brackets have a very slight angle so I would suggest holding them up to the wall to figure if there is an angle and make sure it’s pointed up when installed. The shelves slide onto the brackets and there is no way to lock them in place. Not a problem for my installation but this may be an issue for some. There is a slight gap between the shelf and the wall caused by the thickness of the brackets (maybe 1/8”). This isn’t too noticeable unless you look at the shelf from the sides right up against the wall. Again, in my situation this wasn’t a problem. They seem pretty sturdy even though I wasn’t lucky enough to have any holes line up with a stud. I wouldn’t put 50lbs on them but they should hold up to most uses. Overall I think they are decent quality and look nice installed. I would say that the price is a little high for what you’re getting. You could make these yourself for way cheaper but you’d need to spend some time and effort so you’re paying for the convenience. If you don’t mind the cost and can handle basic home improvement I would recommend these shelves. ... show more

I got 2 sets and they are so cute once on the wall. 2 of the shelves isn’t flush into the wall. I think the wood is a little warped or something. Very easy to install and perfect for what I wanted.

Do the shelves have a freshly stained smell? Yep! Did it bother anyone at all? Nope! If you’re sensitive to smells, just let them air out for a few days and you’ll be just fine! I saw lots of reviews saying it ripped their walls, so I installed my shelves the WRONG way. With the brackets how they’re supposed to be, you’re not really going to be hitting a stud. My solution? Install them vertically instead so that both screws are perfectly centered in the vertical stud. Yes, you can see the bracket a little bit (see pic), but to me that’s worth it for a totally sturdy shelf! I love them and can’t wait to change the decor with the seasons :) ... show more

Very easy to install. The only issue is that even with the brackets perfectly level the shelf still slants down a little bit because there’s a slight angle on the metal insert. Also not flush against to the wall because of the bracket thickness. I’m a little hesitant with it because i ordered these for behind the bar but for now looks good.
