  • Sturdy and nice looking desk
Size: 55x28" Color: Maple
Desk was on sale and bought the Maple 55 inch. Ships in two shipments, the top and the motorized bottom. Not too bad to put together. Instructions are clear, however it does say to adjust the crossbar early on in instructions. But you aren't going to be able to do that until you are mounting to the top so you can line the holes up. So I would just ignore that step or make it a little wider to give you some working room. Once it comes time to mount the top do one screw top/bottom on one side. Then loosen the crossbar and transmission rod and extend until until you lined up the other side with the holes. Once all screwed in tighten the rod and crossbar. One thing I think would have helped was a guide on where the center of the crossbar extension was so you could extend it in a balanced way. I just eyeballed it. Most the weight is going to go to the legs anyway so not concerned. As far as predrilled holes go, they lined up perfectly on left/right side. There is no predrilled holes for the crossbar however you don't need a drill the wood is soft enough to just screw into with a bit of force. Theres also no predrilled hole for the back of the up/down switch but again not a problem. Theres plenty of holes to position the switch where you want (though it must be on the right side of the desk near the motor since the cords aren't that long). One other nitpick is the bracket that holds the power adapter doesn't lock into place. It just slides around freely. Being nitpicky though its not a functional problem. All pieces were there. The top looks really nice but it isn't heavy enough to be solid maple. But all put together the desk has good weight and very sturdy. Motor works well, I actually didn't even buy it for being a standing desk so thats a bonus. It was a good price even if it didn't have that feature. Pros: -sturdy and good weight to it -motor is enough to do the job. -not bad to put together. No frustrating moments. Takes about an hour. Only need a sturdy philips screwdriver no drill needed. -top is one solid piece -its deep! Most cheaper desks are 20-24 inches. 28 inches is a very noticeable difference. -good price -the desk gets very tall, I was surprised. I am 6'2 and it got more than tall enough for me. Cons -couple of nitpicks about instructions Well see how long it lasts but so far am satisfied. ... show more

  • Read before installing the 60x24 inch desk!
Size: 60x24" Color: Maple
Update: Have had this desk for almost two months and have nothing negative to add, we actually purchased two more of the 60x24 desks for our office. Oddly, the pre-drilled holes were actually almost accurately in the center of the desk and I didn't have to drill new holes like the 1st desk I ordered and reviewed below. I hope that the first desk was an older version they have since gotten rid of and the new model is accurate. The two I just bought were much easier to put together than the first. This review is probably only relevant to those that are interested in purchasing the 60x24in desk, so if you are interested in another size, I recommend you keep scrolling. After some frustration, lots of Google searching for problem fixes, and 20 mins waiting on hold for Flexispot customer service I learned some super important install information that is not included in the booklet. Sharing with those of you here so you don't think you are going crazy! - THE PRE-DRILLED HOLES MEAN NOTHING (this fact comes straight from Flexispot customer service). If you extend the crossbar and the transmission rod to meet the pre-drilled holes shown in the instruction manual, the cross bar will be over extended and the transmission rod will be several inches too short. The Flexispot rep told me that you should just center the frame on the table and drill your own holes. It is also not noted how far you should extend the cross bars--this part is important--the Flexispot rep said they can be extended up to 50 inches and that is how you will know where to drill your holes. NOTE: the cross bar and the transmission rod will be way more extended than what shows in the instruction manual or the installation video, so don't worry there. - MEASUREMENTS: sharing mine to save you time. Extend the cross bar so the base from edge-to-edge is 50inches. To get the base centered on the wood, it will need to be 2 5/16" inches from the edge (width) and need to be 4.75" away from the edge (length) on both sides. That should get you centered. Make sure to measure each side of each foot to keep it square. - The pre-drilled holes also won't align with the keypad, so the customer service rep said you can just guess where it goes, somewhere similar to what it shows in the installation video. He said it should be near the motor and near the edge of the table. Overall product review: The product was very well protected in shipping, both packages. The table top is beautiful and I love that it comes in one piece. Have only barely gotten the product installed so I'm not sure about longevity. We got this desk for our company to test before buying several more. Customer service is accessible--when you contact them if you have issues with install, just remember to be nice--it wasn't the customer service rep that wrote the very bad instruction manual! Too early to say if we will purchase more of these, but with the info I gave above, you should be able to have a much more seamless install than I had. ... show more
