  • Product will likely fail. It's just a matter of time.
Size: 16-oz
Every single one of their products I've used failed including this one. This company stays in business because of heavy advertising not product quality. I used al sealer called "Through the Roof" to repair a leak where Flex Seal failed and it ACTUALLY worked. Unlike Flex Seal, Through the Roof will work in wet conditions, in standing water, and sub zero temps. Flex seal doesn't. It works for a short time but I've found it didn't hold up very long and leaks began again in the locations where they were sealed. Temps did drop into the 20's the following month but that shouldn't have been a problem. I'm no novice when it comes to paints and sealers, I'm a journeyman painter. I decided to try this product because of the "great reviews" even though I had my doubts. I should've listened to my gut. They're the same price, you decide if you want to risk it. ... show more

  • Great Product that needs storage solution of unused product
I purchased this product to hopefully bandaid a problem with the PVC metal wrap on my house. 10 rolls of metal to cover rakes, windows, doors, etc. and EVERY ROLL HAS FAILED. The PVC is peeling off the metal, only 6 years after wrapping. To rip off the metal, rebend and reapply will not only be costly but painfully time consuming. Last year, I decided to look into rubber paint to hopefully stop what's already peeling from going further but could only purchase gallons, which are expensive so put it off. I was happy to find this product in a small can to test my theory. Yesterday, I cleaned off what was loose on 2 large windows, a garage door and the entry door to the garage. Wish I'd have taken pics of those but I didn't. The product is very thick and does not go on like paint, more like trying to paint with caulk. It covers nicely and self levels. You can only go a few inches with each dip of your brush into the can. It even sealed cracks in the caulk around the j-channel. Now for the drawbacks. I painted all the above with half a can of product, today it looked really good. I had hammered on the lid and started another 2 windows this afternoon. Where the liquid was missing in the can, the portion I had used missing, the Flex Seal had "rubbered" up around the can from the halfway point up and when I put in my brush, it would catch the rubber wads and they would stick to my brush. I've got tons of these rubberized wads stuck to my ladder where I had to wipe my brush to keep from getting on my window. Didn't like that and had to be very careful not to grab that with my brush. Mineral spirits DID NOT budge the Flex Seal on my brush, I mean it didn't even loosen it, melt it or dilute it. I threw the brush in the trash. As much as I hate chip brushes because they loose their "hair", it was a chip brush today and that too went into the garbage. The first pic shows what my windows, rakes, fascia are doing and two other pics are of freshly painted, still wet, hopefully-fixed-the-problem windows. I recommend only buying an amount you plan to use in a session. While painting on tonight, it was clear that the empty portion in my can was getting more rubbery as I used product out of the can. I don't feel I will be able to use the remaining 1/4 can tomorrow on another window as it continually gummed up, in this heat, as I was painting. ... show more

  • Goopy!
Better than expected, but don't go on very thick. I'm trying to seal the roof of my RV and it will take two or three coats. Do yourself a favor and apply this with a metal paint pan and a 26-inch mini roller. A brush would be way too messy.

  • Liquid is hard to work with!!!!
Size: 1-gal
I have used products like this before but this mess is very hard to work with. It is not self leveling so expect streaks using a brush and they "look bad". I tried rolling it with a foam roller and a 3/8" nap but that didn't help. I'll have 3 coats by the time I'm done. As soon as you open the can and the liquid contacts air it will begin to skin over so you have to move fast. Reseal the can right then because you don't have time to stir what your not using to slow down the skinning process. I suggest recoating with the spray it will help the appearance but be careful with the spray it runs like crazy on a vertical surface. Keep your distance and move and fast lightly with it. I 'm coating the inside of an aluminum boat with it, floor and walls. I've used the spray many times in the past and it does seal but I'm not happy so far. I may use the spray again in the future but at this point I wouldn't recommend this mess for a dog house. ... show more

  • Great material but hard to paint onto the surface .
Size: 1-gal
Very strong material . Fairly smooth and shiny . Went on fairly thick . But had little flecks of solidified material in the can immediately after opening it . I heard it was supposed to be paint thickness . Yet it was way thicker and there was a bit of solid material in the bottom of the can . So I'm thinking it was sitting in the can too long in the warehouse . I had the can unopened for just a few days before using it . So being so thick it spread like thick glue and was a beast to get to lay down flat with a brush . If I used a roller it would have been dimpled . It would not lay totally flat . So it ended up with paint lines in the dried surface . It did not shrink or smooth out after drying . It was hard as hell to get it to even touch down onto the surface it was so thick . It kept skipping across in spots . So I had to keep brushing back and forth just to get it to adhere . I assume I got an older can . Otherwise it would have been a bit more fluid and easier to lay down onto the surface . Which was mostly aluminum sheet . ... show more

  • Works Very Good
Size: 1-gal
This stuff really works. I painted cinder block church basement walls on 2 areas and it’s been dry ever since. I did paint onto the floor to help get a better seal. I also needed 2 coats of paint both with a roller and brush to get into all the grooves. I needed to use 2 cans of the FlexSeal spray paint to get behind the pole really good. You CAN NOT paint over the gallon paint. So if you want to seal the wall and then paint over it use the flexSeal spraypaint as you can paint over it. Worth the money for a dry basement. ... show more
