  • GOOD deal!
Stuff is amazing, since I've been in hardware business for almost 40 years, this stuff REALLY works and a heck of a deal!!

  • Great Product
I used this both to seal a retaining wall over newly repaired (by a contractor) foundation, and to fix a leak in my large, free standing waterfall So far no problems! Make sure you ventilate!! Very strong chemical smell which dissipates within a few hours. You simply cannot stay in the same room as the spray for several hours, even with windows open. I tried the FlexSeal “caulk” type which arrived in a tube. It was the worst experience! Maybe the one I received was old, but it wouldn’t come out of the tube without significant pressure, and when applied it just make a mess. It wouldn’t adhere to the plastic waterfall bottom very well at all. I’m sure if I hadn’t used the spray flex seal over it, the seal would have broken right away. I don’t recommend the tube version (like I said maybe mine was old?) if that is the expected result. ... show more

  • A Good and Useful Product
I've actually bought this product several times already, and will probably do so again in the future. I'd seen ads where the pourable type (in black) was used to line a garden pond showing that it was safe for koi and goldfish. I used the clear spray-on to line a large galvanized tub to create a mini pond. After a month under water the Flex Seal is holding strong, and all my fish, tadpoles, snails, clams, and plants all seem to be quite healthy and happy! My only complaints are two small issues. The first is that in order to get the coverage I wanted, one can only covered a space of about 18x24 inches -- or 3 square feet. For the cost per can, I would have liked to have gotten more coverage than that. The second problem is with how the spray set up once it was applied to the metal. Initially it seemed to flow and adhere well, settling with a smooth surface; but after a few minutes, tiny bubbles rose to the surface and left hundreds of little pits all over the top of the product. I was hoping that additional layers (after each layer dried) would solve the problem. They did not. If anything, the bubble dimpling became worse with additional layers. On most any other project I would probably overlook this issue, but because the tub is outdoors in direct sunlight for several hours each day, algae has gotten a foothold in these little pits causing the old-fashioned grey metal to turn lime green. I will say that perhaps the pourable Flex Seal might have been a better choice for this project to avoid both of these issues. At this point, I have no idea. If I do try that in the future -- which is very likely -- I will amend this review to reflect any differences. Photo 1: July 30, 2016 - tub cleaned, but without any Flex Seal. Photo 2: Sept. 24, 2016 - Happy inhabitants, but walls are green. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos before final set-up. ... show more

  • This is a handy item to keep around the house just like WD-40 useful in ways you wouldn't think until something ...
So far we have used this to seal steady stream squirt guns and a stock tank and it works perfectly. If you're wondering about the steady stream squirt guns- they are really hard to find. Either one can find the "pull the trigger repeatedly" kind or the pump action where you have to keep on pumping to get the water out. Neither are as effective for altering negative cat behavior as the kind you pump air in, squeeze the trigger and you get a steady stream until it runs out of air. To seal the leaks (which it seems is a common complaint) you make sure it is clear of water and allowed to sit with the cap off in order to dry completely. Then spray a generous amount of the flex seal in, replace the cap and pump with air. DO NOT SQUEEZE THE TRIGGER... YOU WILL PLUG THE HOLE AND RUIN THE SQUIRT GUN!!! After a couple of minutes slowly unscrew the cap to release the air. Some of the flex seal may squirt out, so having on gloves (disposable) would be helpful. Repeat and allow to set with the cap off for 24 hours. Fill with water, charge and you should have a working, non leaking squirt gun. This is a handy item to keep around the house just like WD-40 useful in ways you wouldn't think until something happens and you'll be happy you have this on hand. ... show more

  • Loose shingles
I live in high plains with tons of high wind. Some of my shingles started getting loose and flapping. Before it turned into a full blown leak I decided to buy these cans and some shingles to replace the crap ones. I pulled up the loose shingles. Sprayed a generous amount of this under where the shingle went to seal the roof and nail holes. Sealed the seams with this as well. Then replaced the shingles and nailed them down. The Flex Seal actually stuck the new shingle to the roof a bit making it so the wind has less of a chance of blowing it up now. It's been about a month since I replaced the shingles and so far so good. I bought the 2 can pack but didn't need the 2nd one since the 1 can has a lot of coverage. What's the guy on the commercial say? It's liquid rubber, IN A CAN! His description was eloquent. If you don't use the whole can, turn the can upside down and spray it 2-3 times fast in short bursts to clear the nozzle head so it doesn't seal up. That way you can use the rest of the can ;) ... show more
