Overall, a fantastic product and works as intended, eradicating odor built up within the flute interior. However, I'm taking off one star solely for the pricing and lack of a bundling option. The 5.9 and 11.8 in options fit inside the head joint and main body parts respectfully and after leaving them both inside the flute for a couple of days (after 15 years in storage), coupled with a deep cleansing and polishing with oils and cleaners purchased separately from somewhere else, I can say full well that these handmade care sticks definitely do what they're advertised to do. A VERY strong odor was coming from my old flute before I purchased these and now it smells like new. However, paying $15-19 separately for both parts is admittedly a bit much for the price, especially since they're pretty small and fit a bit *too* inside the flute pieces than they probably need to (they both could stand to be slightly longer). I can only assume the seller is charging for labor (the description does say handmade) which well, fair enough, but still there should be an option to buy them both at once. Other than that, I'm quite pleased with these and I thank the seller for making such a useful and great product for flute players! They're both playing a huge part in my flute restoration purposes (just need a repadding now). ... show more

Works well enough, but about an inch short for the flute head. I suppose it’s meant for the B foot. Still 2/3 the size in width of what they show you. I can’t see any reason at all to use it so it can sit and not fully absorb the moisture from the pads. They need to fatten that up and make one for the head. The are no decent swabs for flute heads, I was hopeful for this one, but it needs much improvement. For all it is, it’s over-priced. ... show more

I use this in my back-up flute after drying out with a dowel and silk. It prevents moisture damage and microbial build-up/odors. Realistically one would have time to let the flute air-dry before storing, but most times there is barely time to swab out my flute before the bell rings and I have to rush off to my next class. Same thing for flute lessons. I can't just sit in the car waiting for my flute to dry out before closing the case, so this works well in the meantime. ... show more

The description gave me the impression that I would get two: one for the mouth piece and one for the body of the flute. I only got one, which was discouraging. This product is in the headjoint of a gold Powell Flute. It has kept it odor free and has wicked away any remaining moisture that I have not been able to clean out with a flute snake swab. It is definitely a product to buy for short or long term instrument storage!

Ordered this for my daughter's flute headpiece. It's way too small. More like 4.9", not 5.9" like the description states. It is also much narrower than the flute, so although it will still likely absorb the moisture, it could definitely be thicker. Overpriced in my opinion. Disappointed.
