  • Huge benefit on the trail
Size: 10.5 Color: Red/Mesa/Core Black
Used to ride in regular ol' sneakers like a chump, until I went on some proper trails and to my horror I had next to no grip. No more! If you're just getting into mountain biking, listen up - get yourself a pair of these in combination with some good platform pedals, & thank me later. These will keep you absolutely PLANTED on the bike & help with climbing, descending, maneuvering & whatever else you want to put yourself through. After a few rides in these, I found myself easily doing things that seemed straight up intimidating before - all because I no longer had to waste energy fighting for grip, & was putting the power down where it needed to go. Sometimes all it takes is some decent gear to make riding safer & more enjoyable. As for the color - get whatever has the biggest discount. If you ride often, these won't stay clean for very long, so it won't matter how pretty the color is when they are. ... show more

  • Sturdy and comfortable
Size: 9 Color: Red/Mesa/Core Black
I wanted a grippy shoe for my e-MTB and so far I am pleased with the fit, the function and the look. They appear well made and I can move my toes…in thicker socks. I normally wear a men’s 9 and that is what I ordered.

  • Great shoes for mountain biking
Size: 12.5 Color: Red/Mesa/Core Black
My son loves the look of these shoes so much that, although they were purchased for mountain biking, he wears them casually as well. He finds they keep his feet securely on the pedals without slippage. They run a bit small so he bought one half-size up and got a good fit.

  • Like wearing clips only much less scary
Size: 9 Color: Core Black/Carbon/Pulse Lime
With the Fooker MTB pedals these shoes basically feel like clips - except it is much easier for me to take my feet off the pedals and catch my fall. They fit perfectly and are comfortable. You can definitely walk in them easily enough although they are clearly not designed for walking or running over biking. Hopefully the soles last much longer than my running shoes which were torn to shreds after trying to use them for months with the fooker pedals. The pins were digging into the running shoes more than I would have thought. These don't seem to have that issue at all and are also much better at actually gripping my feet. I do think it makes a difference to my biking even on relatively easy terrain. Less power is lost, I can try different uphill challenges, on the downhill my feet stay on the pedals better. For the price of these shoes you can really make a significant difference to your safety and performance in a way that a bike upgrade could never do. ... show more

  • I usually wear 10.5-11. 11.5 fits pretty well
Size: 11.5 Color: Red/Mesa/Core Black
I usually wear 10.5-11. 10.5 for most shoes. I find that 5 10s seem to run a tad small so I ordered 11.5. That seems to fit pretty well I could have probably done 11 and those would have fit a bit snugger but happy with mine. Looks like the bottom sole is actually sewn to the upper which is a huge plus and rare in today’s cheap junk shoe world that is mainly glued. Not a fan of glued as they come apart pretty early usually. I think there will last well. I was on the fence about buying the Freerider Pro for about the same price at the time I looked, but since the Pro looks glued for the bottom sole I decided to go with the regular Freerider. ... show more

  • Best mountain biking shoes I've tried.
Size: 9 Color: Grey Five/Core Black/Grey Four
sticks like glue to the pedals.

  • firm and sticks to pedal
Size: 13 Color: Core Black/Carbon/Pulse Lime
I switched the smooth platform pedals that came with my Trek Verve to a set with a few edges. The bottom of this shoe really sticks to the new pedal and the bottom of the shoe is firm enough. You can walk on it, but it is meant for riding. I wouldn't use it for long walks. It is well-made and comfortable. I was just using regular casual shoes, so this is a big improvement for the money. ... show more
