Received my shoes earlier today, and once again FitVille delivered quality comfort that I have come to expect. Out of the box, these shoes are comfortable, with little to no break-in time. I needed something more formal than athletic shoes, but still required comfortable support to last all day. I have a Charcot deformity on one foot, and still lingering issues from a stroke on the other foot. FitVille brand shoes address so many of the issues, and I have only highest praise for their products. I recommend you check with your doctor first before trying any new product, but my Dr's have been satisfied with the results. ... show more

Generally speaking, I like the very VERY wide toe box of these shoes (wider than other FitVille I've tried). However, like I've noticed with other FitVille shoes I've ordered, these ran a half size too short. I normally wear a 10.5 2E, but the 10.5 Wide I ordered in this FitVille model definitely rubbed against the tips of my big toes. I returned the 10.5 Wide and got an 11 Wide instead, and they fit my feet very well. They also seem sturdy (except for the insoles, which I'll get to in a second) and are surprisingly lightweight for the beefy sole that is on them. I also like the look of the shoe, and it seems like a good value for appealing to such a niche audience. My only complaint is how flimsy the insoles are (which some others have discussed as well in reviews). I wear a prescription quarter orthotic in both of my shoes, and I have for almost 20 years. In **less than a day,** the orthotic caused the liner on the top of these insoles to split at its seams (see photo) at the same spot in both shoes. I have never seen this kind of insole failure in all of the time I've worn my orthotics. In removing the insole to inspect it, I was really surprised to see how thin and flimsy the insole is. There is zero arch support in the insole (perhaps that's all in the shoe) and very little heel cushioning. The shape of the shoe might be much improved over other shoes, but the insole isn't doing you any favors. If you really want these shoes to work well in the long term, you should get a good pair of 3rd-party insoles. ... show more

I ordered these after struggling to find a slightly-dressier pair of casual shoes that would fit my size 13 extra wide foot. These feel great and look very nice as well. I have plenty of room in both length and width. In addition, after months of use, these shoes still look nearly brand new. They have held up through winter extremely well. Comfortable shoes with a modern look, but my pair "squeaks". It's more of a squishy squeak type noise, but it's undeniable. I even looked up the causes of such a thing and now I'm a semi-authority on the subject. I put baby powder, between the insole and shoe bottom, and nothing... they still made the noise. Many folks said that such a sound is not uncommon for some new shoes and it's a matter of "breaking them in" first. Well, I wore them for about half a day, and I thought, wow, the noise has gone away... but I thought that due to the ambient noise in the room, meaning it wasn't a quiet enough setting to hear the squeaking... the minute the room got quiet enough, there it was again. I took the shoes off and was able to generate the noise independently of wearing them, by pressing in various places on the sole... and it seemed like the on the areas I pressed, the noise would eventually completely stop, where I couldn't generate the noise no matter how hard I kept pressing on the sole... so I thought, great, I'll just massage and press the sole, vigorously, all the way around the sole, to where it no longer makes any noise, when I push. Well, the noise stopped everywhere after pushing all around the sole, but the minute I put them back on, there it was again. --- Then, I'm proud to say, I spilled a whole 5 serving tub of vanilla yogurt, with half the yogurt splattering onto one of the black shoes... now, in between my fits of anger at the mishap... I had to admit the contrasting black shoe material and the snow white yogurt color, looked pretty cool... but I quickly surmised that this fashion option wouldn't be practical outside of a few steps, when the yogurt would start to fly off every which way. So yes, that's enough information to explain my feelings on these shoes... having to remove the shoelaces even, to get at the yogurt that seeped all down into the tongue and into every nook and cranny of the breathable fabric, with nearly every part of the shoelace drenched in white.... I have yet to re-lace them, so as I can continue my attempts to "wear the shoes in". It may be a while, I can tell you that... but someday, I'll give it another shot. Over and out.. ... show more

    • Fit As Expected / 'Dress' Shoes, Not 'Athletic' Shoes
Size: 15 Wide Color: Black
These are nice-looking shoes that fit me as expected. My size is 15 wide feet, and I am happy wearing these for a few hours during casual social situations. The important thing to note is that these shoes are described as 'dress' shoes. They're not intended for 'athletic' purposes. There's minimal arch or heel support that is needed for most athletic activities. The sole is moderately cushioned but not as thick or cushiony as athletic shoes. That said, I wore them to a party for a few hours, and my feet felt fine. These shoes are very lightweight and are comfortable to wear. They look nicer than athletic shoes and should be suitable for wearing to nicer places with a dress code that prohibits athletic shoes. Just don't expect to do athletic activities and expect them to perform like your Nike's. ... show more

This is a great quality product and value for the money these shoes are comfortable and lightweight and good support easy to put on and good sole at the bottom true to size and fit good on wide feet. Breathable material mixed with like a faux leather I guess but hold up good.
