This is the first shoe that is actually giving him relief, for his knees, feet, and back. He has issues with those things being he has been doing it for 30 years. I bought these shoes, because it is hard to find an athletic shoe in wide width at a reasonable price. Having extra room in the row area is a plus and the style is nice. I've been wearing them for two weeks, the material is very synthetic so I'm not sure how well the will hold up. The arch support is minimal, so I ended buying orthopedic inserts (the very thin memory foam comes out). The outer foam sole is hard but flexes, quite different from the usual foam feeling. The bottom black tread is glued on and seems to be made of a plastic/rubber compound. It is slippery on carpet and hard wood floors. Walking outside on grass, concrete and asphalt traction is good and they feel good. While they do look nice and the sizing is good, I'm a little skeptical on how well they will last. ... show more
