  • light weight, does not flop around on your head
I have a lot of experience with head lamps. It is rare that one needs more than the middle setting on this headlamp and the light weight and single strap makes for a headlamp that does not flop around. I would only use an AA lithium battery in it, it is lighter than the alkaline battery and will not leak. I tested the headlamp by running it on the middle setting for hours and it did not get more than slightly warm. One expects it to heat up on the high setting and cut back on light output to limit the temperature. For the short periods that you need the higher output this headlamp delivers. A thin plastic insulator on the end of the installed battery will prevent accidental turn on in a headlamp stored for emergency use. If you really need several hundred lumens continuously, you can buy a headlamp powered by a 18650 battery that will deliver that output and much more for short periods. It will be heavier and flop around on your head. Never the less, I have my fair share of those. I am happy enough with this head lamp that I bought three more. ... show more

  • Very High Quality
very small and light, very well made, 3 output settings, will run 100 hours on low setting, comfortable and easy adjustable headband, purchased for use outdoors and emergency light for storms, using low power setting [ lights up a room and can read with with it ] metal light in a rubber mount. great value for the money. ... show more

  • Product does NOT perform as advertised
Here is another listing for this headlamp claiming that it will do 240lm for 8 hours or 70lm for 16 hours and IT WILL NOT. These modes start stepping down their brightness in the first 10-15 mins on a fresh battery and they both keep dialing down until at about 1 hour they are running somewhere around 35 lm. Fenix just left the timer running until the light shut off. You can literally put a fresh good quality battery in this light and watch it stepping down lower and lower. It doesn't take long. I'm not sure how Amazon allows such listings. How is it not deceptive? ... show more
