Overall I think these are fun and cool in a retro way. My wife thinks they're goofy and a little creepy. So interpret that however you want lol. These are definitely 'oversized' so you should expect them to give the "bug eyes" look. Functionality wise, these seen like respectable quality. The frame plastic is not super high quality, so I don't expect these to be very durable. The hinges are not spring loaded, so they are more prone to snapping if they get accidentally bent a little too far. The lenses are clear and effective in reducing glare. ... show more

I mess around with a lot of different sunglasses – it's one of the ways men are really allowed to express themselves. (Most men's watches are terrible.) I knew these were a stretch – super big 80s statement glasses, but you never know, sometimes there's a weird symbiosis. Honestly, these were even more than what I expected – more big, more 80s, if that makes any sense. The frames themselves are super angular and kind of take over the shape of your face and make it big and boxy – maybe that's what men want?? Personally, I felt like Bug-Eyed Wall Street Overlord from the Year 3000. But maybe that's modern masculinity. Interesting sunglasses; they have their own look that sets them apart from the generic masses. My observations: They are comfortable, and the frames do not bite if you have a large head. Indeed, the glasses are relatively large—a characteristic I liked, but folks with small heads might think otherwise. The polarization works. There is an extension on the sides to reduce stray light, and it seems more noticeable in person than in the product webpage photos. Sometimes I pick up a little internal reflection off that surface, but it is not too pronounced. The plastic frames are glossy and smooth, but in practice the glasses stay securely in place under normal use. The overall feel and quality seems good, except the supplied zip-up case is prone to a bit of smashing when a small amount of pressure is applied (it still seems to protect the glasses though). Outdoors in bright sunlight the lenses do shift the color balance. Yellows and oranges are diminished, and blues are a bit augmented. My take is that it makes the world look a tad flat, but the effect is not huge. All in all, a nice pair of shades with an unusual, and pleasing, style. ... show more

I got these specifically for use on my boat. These are great for the job. The sun blocking works great as well ad the polarization. They have side extensions that reduce peripheral glare that I specifically like for being on the water. Not to mention they look pretty cool too!
