a few months ago i gutted my 2012 accord coupe to up grade the tunes and add noise proofing, the car had a hollow drum sound to it ....looked on line and found FatMat to be the best deal for my needs. install was easy ,cut it out and roll it into place (dont worry about trying to make the pieces fit perfect ,get them close then add the scraps) on the doors cover holes with solid pieces and the rest of the metal can be cut and patched in .....remember to roll this stuff out till smooth or it will not stick .....i have pieces under rear deck and trunk lid still there ,i am not worried ......the noise is gone ....cool solid sound when closing the doors.....only used 50sq ft in car ......product was easy to use..getting the car apart and back together was a different story ....as for the smell, 2 days slite smell turn the air on it was gone ... show more

I started with a bare interior so the time to strip the seats and carpet out was not a factor. I made patterns and installed mine starting with the trans tunnel and working outward. a good pattern will help reduce waste and install time. I covered everything but the glass, now 3" exhaust and flow masters are not so harsh and body panel drowning is nearly eliminated. I can actually hear the radio at higher speeds. received my rolls in about a week, i ordered the 100sq ft of it and you cant beat the price that they sell it for. i used it to block heat radiating from my transmission tunnel into the cab of the car and as far as i can tell it has been a huge difference, install kit comes with a razor and roller. The roller looks cheap and generic but when you start to apply the mat and actually use the roller it helps a lot ... show more

Got shipped to Hawaii priority mail for 18.00 (great price) Came in 3 days. Product is very sticky very little smell at first but ok now. Installs and cut easy. Does the job well. Did my 4 doors inside and out. Sealed doors and sound has improved allot. Is quieter in truck but haven't done back wall yet Truck has been in sun a week now at work and no smell. Also small piece sticking out of panel (my bad lol ) and mat feels like it was when installed . Didn't get soft .So pleased with fatmat will finish off back wall with the rattle trap since its alittle thicker .Wish I went with the rattle trap first just for that reason. Now the bad. Ordered the rattle trap with prime and after 4 days still hasn't shipped .Was planning on finishing truck next week ( on vacation ) but guess that's not happening. Think they want you to use the more expensive option of shipping. If nor for that would be 5 stars. Product is 5 stars though. ... show more

    • The best 100 dollars you will spend on your car
Ok, first things first. This comes in two rolls which are about 24 inches wide. Makes it pretty easy to move around and seems to be a better size than dynamat sheets that are a little cumbersome to use in the close spaces of the car. I have done several cars with sound insulation and even new cars benefit from the floor and trunk being covered from front to back. I usually do the doors as well but never really noticed that much of a difference, except fot the sound from the speakers which is way better. As I got so much this time I also did the bonnet and and the trunk lid. I learned this from my last car which quietens the car at speed and in the rain and looks good when you sell it. (It was a deal clincher on the first visit and that makes a difference as well). I found this time sound is reduced 15 to 20 dB's overall and you find that you tend to drive about 5-10 mph faster because it is quieter when it is first installed. Even had enough left to put it on the inside of my computer box at home and it quietens that down to. One negative is the free roller which is not very good, but a few buck at Home Depot solved this problem. ... show more
