  • Small parts and small tools required.
This is my second Metal earth model. I found that smooth jaw jewelers needle nose pliers and a right angle needle nose pliers are ver y helpful. Also, a small flush cutting wire cutter is needed. As the metal is steel, the cutter should be designed for hard metal. Also, a lighted magnifier on a stand is very helpful; especially for older eyes. I use an 8X large diameter magnifier with led lights. Some of the pieces are rather delicate and there is some difficulty in aligning major assemblies during the final assembly steps. ... show more

  • Interesting model..great scale definition...looks like a stage coach...Love the anodize colors..
Wow, thats all I can say. Small parts..Measured 0.012" thick steel sheets..First part was the barrel with lid and handle..The handle was maybe 0.125"..requiring a middle bend...AND 2 tabs..they must have been 0.015"...Had a wooden model..new, in the box, next to me, thinking I'd bail on the tiny parts for the coach..But got out the tweetzers and magnifying headset and got after it. Had some problems attaching the wheels..Hard to get the tabs tight enough to take out the play. Ended up really enjoying it..ordered another..Different from the wood. And I've done a few of those... ... show more

  • Very small precision work requires great eyesight and small tools.
I bought this for my dad as a gift. I had no idea how small and difficult the kit was. We both wear glasses, and tried to work together on this project. Even using magnification, we struggle with the tiny little tabs and pieces. We gave up somewhere in the assembly of the stagecoach roof, which is pretty early in the process. ... show more

  • Detailed craft for the young adult or adult.
I love the detail on this piece, but it’s definitely not for beginners or a child. Tools like small needle nose pliers are definitely a must. The pieces can be difficult to remove from the metal sheets; especially if they have more than one connection piece. Great care must be given when assembling it as some pieces can bend off. The side lamps were especially difficult for me to do and ended up coming off as I was trying to secure the final tab. I do love the multi-toned metal with the embossing; it really makes the piece “pop”. At less than $20, I think it was a great little craft that was fun to do and kept me busy for day doing something different than the normal. ... show more

  • Nice looking but extremely tiny pieces.
I knew once I saw the parts racks I was in trouble. Took me 2 full days to chase parts into place with micro glasses and tweezers. Some of the chassis parts were so flimsy they crushed with others having no leverage to bend the tabs into locking position. Had to makeshift a front rounded leaf spring with the parts rack cut to fit to raise up the carriage off the chassis and GLUE it into place to make it look 'authentic'. Brake lines were extremely difficult to hook across the carriage from front to back. There were other incredibly difficult parts to access for alignment throughout, very challenging project. Best part of the project was seeing it in one piece, it's a very nice looking model. ... show more

  • Was a challenge !
I took my time with this one, it turned out really nice, I'm the only one who knows where the errors are, to the novice it looks perfect, but we are our worse critics. I also built the Gatling Gun, that was harder than the stage coach, that one took a while to, but it turned out really nice. Just take your time, if you start to get frustrated with it, walk away, or just throw it right in the trash, because that's where it will end up unless you walk away. But enjoy them, I had fun with them. Next for me, is the revolver. ... show more

  • Looks great in part thanks to Bondic UV GLUE which helped compensate for old fingers.
