Purchased the Farm Innovators 5 gallon heated bucket back in November - item worked well for a couple of months but the heating function failed, causing the bucket to freeze solid. Contacted their customer service and they sent a new bucket no questions asked. They only requested that I send a photo of the failed product with the power cord cut off. New bucket arrived today - I really appreciate that level of customer support and standing behind your product. It's been in use for two weeks now, nice solid construction, keeps water from freezing. I can't rate longevity because if haven't had it very long. You have to pry off bottom cover to pull out cord and that was a little tricky, but you only have to do this once unless you plan to use it as a summer bucket and tuck the cord away. ... show more

This is the second day below zero and the water doesn't even have a coat of ice on top. It was too cold for the dogs so I had to bring them in. But the bucket is still working!

Have used to four bowls and this bucket from this company. Chickens and dogs. Unfortunately they only lasted two seasons with one bowl going three. Really disappointed. Poor quality imo. Looking for something better. Wrapped my chicken waterer with heat tape this year when the last bowl quit.

Best way to prevent colic in the winter is to encourage horses to drink more water. My horse clearly likes the warm water from this bucket vs the cold water water in a different tub. I'm in Virginia but we still get at or below freezing often which means this bucket is a necessity or larger version if your horse is a big drinker. I have not had an issue or problem with this bucket as long as I have electricity! That has been a problem this year!! We use a 14 guage extension cord with this set up, which is grounded, and we have that on a power strip that is designed for outdoor use. I hope it lasts a long long time but if something happened to it, I would replace with the same bucket. Happy horse and owner is not worried about frozen water in bucket. Win Win. ... show more

We needed two of these as one of our horses (20+ years) can be sensitive to very cold water and colic. These were perfect and the low amp draw allowed us to set up a temporary power supply to the barn as we get ready to run power out there. I bought it for my dog that drinks a lot of water. And it’s works so great. It’s a great size to where you don’t have to fill it every day, I fill it maybe once a week if that. And never have to worry about the water being frozen which is just so nice!
